Ember To My Flame

Ember To My Flame

How can I be so unlucky? I am an orphan. I used to live in Little Homage orphanage till 15. I saw people coming and adopting nearly everyone whom I grew up with, except me. People used to come and play with me but no one took me with them. I don't know who my parents are. I was told that someone left me in front of the orphanage. I was not adopted but I have a sponsor. The sponsor uses to pay for my school fees. I don't know whether it's a he or a she. I ran away from the orphanage when I was 15 because the son of the owner tried to molest me. Lucky me that I used to tutor young kids so I saved some money. I rent a very small apartment and arranged for the necessities.

Divorced But Desired by the Mafia King

Divorced But Desired by the Mafia King

The bemused expression he gives me lets me know exactly how well he thinks I'd do at NOT helping. "Fine," if he won't be reasonable, I'll make the best of things. "But I'm not keeping the money. I'm donating it to the Westside Orphanage," my mind flashes to their simple white walls and their beautiful rose garden. I had ended up there for a few months when my whole family died, at least until they could hunt down a distant family member willing to take me in.

Escaping the Dungeon of a Mafia Heir's Cheap Love

Escaping the Dungeon of a Mafia Heir's Cheap Love

I never imagined things would fall apart between them so quickly. But none of that had anything to do with me anymore. I barely glanced at the news before scrolling away, since I had my own life to worry about now. The orphanage where I grew up sat at the base of a remote mountain. It was incredibly run-down. Lately, I was caught up in helping our director, Gabriella Conti, raise emergency funds everywhere. Even before this, I had consistently wired a portion of my earnings back. On top of that, I filled in as a teacher to help the kids learn to read. My life felt fulfilling and free.

The creature inside me

The creature inside me

“I’ll tell you something about yourself today,” Mark spoke as he made Zadkiel follow him to his office and instead of sitting formally on the chairs, facing each other, they sat on the couch side to side. “Listen Zadkiel, you know this is a public-funded orphanage. Although the existence of orphanages has almost gone extinct, we’re still running this nonprofit a-sort-of organization.” Mark started and Zadkiel was trying to relate this information to himself.

Reject My Alpha President

Reject My Alpha President

“More than we can comfortably house, but what can I do? Turn them away?” “It must be difficult,” Arthur comments, his gaze taking in a sagging section of ceiling. Giulia shrugs. “We manage. Private donations are rare these days. Everyone wants to donate to the trendy causes—the arts, environmental charities. Orphans aren’t fashionable, even though our country faces more and more orphans every year due to rising populations.” I feel a pang of guilt. I’ve been successful in my career, but it never occurred to me to send money back to the orphanage. I’ve been so focused on moving forward, on escaping my past, that I never thought about giving back.

The Assassin and The Alpha

The Assassin and The Alpha

It is difficult to choose martyrdom if this is how your heart depends. But I don’t want to be bored. It was just a child. It’s nothing naive. I've seen how the children in the orphanage cope up with the world without their parents. And I can’t bear to be the reason for an innocent child to lose a father and a complete family. I can't be selfish.

Lust Contracts

Lust Contracts

Adrian brought his head closer to mine and whispered to me. “I think it’s wonderful…” I replied without hesitation. As a girl who grew up in an orphanage that was extremely underfunded, I could say that I truly understood what it meant to suffer and to go hungry. It would help the children in those orphanages so much if they had the support of such a large corporation as this one. I smiled sweetly at Adrian as I continued to admire his goodwill. He’s such a noble and honest person.

Alpha Queen's Destined Hybrid (Book 1 of Destined Series)

Alpha Queen's Destined Hybrid (Book 1 of Destined Series)

I seriously, don’t want to get involved with men like Alpha Magnus again. Just then, my phone rang, notifiying me about a donation to my orphanage, an orphanage I built for the homeless children here in the Springfield called Ziraili Orphanage. Checking it, my mouth left my jaw, seeing that it was 10 million donation. It was sent by someone without a name, just anonymous. Just then, the business email I had notified too. “Hey, I sent a donation to your orphanage. I hope you like it <3”

Being Alive

Being Alive

I was at home. I had some time before my shift started. Yeah, I was working sometimes. But I didn’t spend any of these money on me. I earned money, so that I could go to some toy shop and buy toys for orphans. I think they really didn’t deserve being without everything that I had. They are the same as me, probably better but they don’t have as much as I had, only because they are alone. Also I was buying some food for abandoned dogs and cats. Every week I was going to orphanage and shelter.

The Alpha's Moon Princess

The Alpha's Moon Princess

Let's face it, I am a total wreck. I wonder how the orphanage was doing. I knew it had finally been built, but last I heard they were still getting it set up before the kids can arrive. I have been so busy training and learning my Luna duties, I haven’t had much time to check in on things as much as I had wanted to. Other than Hunter, no one knew it had been me who donated the money and I was glad.

Good story but man I wish the Chapters didn't take so much to unlock since they are short. There's over 170 chapters at 25-30 a piece it will take over 4 months if I only use them from the free ones given daily. I read a book in a day or two when I purchase online....

Frequently Asked Questions

The Brothers House Orphanage is run by this stern but secretly kind-hearted man named Father Thomas. He's got this gruff exterior—always wearing that faded brown robe and carrying a wooden cane—but the kids all know he'd give his last loaf of bread for them. The place feels like something out of a Dickens novel, creaky floors and all, but there's warmth in how he remembers every kid's birthday. Rumor has it he used to be a soldier, which explains the discipline, but also why he sits up late mending stuffed animals when no one's watching.

What's fascinating is how the orphans describe him—some say he's like a grumpy grandfather, others whisper about him talking to the portraits of past caretakers at midnight. The house itself feels like a character too, with its winding corridors and the attic full of donated books. It's one of those settings where you just know there's layers upon layers of untold stories behind who really keeps the place running.
