I listened but I could hardly hear anything with the television playing in the background. "Must be the neighbours," I mutter and turn back to the television. How do people watch horror movies they aren't even scary. To be honest it was a comical joke seeing someone getting chased by a masked murderer wheeling a chainsaw. This was a funny Thai horror movie, and it started off with a laugh. Hannah always had a low sense of humor. Just as it had started, she laughed so hard that she ended up choking herself. [katalina] The movies we watched were all good. It’s three in the morning already. Hunter and I are still awake. Finishing streaming each video that fits into our liking. It felt weird that we didn’t feel tired or sleepy yet. Eventhough the previous movies we watched were genres of drama and love story. At first, I thought, Hunter would be watching horrors or action films. But much to my surprise, he wanted this evening ahead of us to be calm and memorable. Maybe, he had a feeling that if we watch horror movies, I can wake up the entire mansion, screaming at the top of my lungs.

The plots just hits so hard that even if I'll only hear the song that was used on those movies, I will start crying for real. After a moment of reading each titles, I took one of the cd. It is one of my favorite movies too because despite of the hilarius and frightening scenes happened on the first and second story, the last one made me cried so hard just like how I cried in Titanic. I don't know if it's just me being too vulnerable for tragic movies or the stories are just too heavy to take to not cry. I sighed as I brought the cd closer to me. In fact, I thought of people that watched them as demons or being possessed by demons. Why would you sit down in the dark of the night to watch a horror movie when there are less scary ones like rom-coms? And the fact that they sleep so peacefully at night bothered me. Today I saw something even more dreadful than the ones on TV. This one was not made with CGI effects or costumes. It was real. The little girl hanging there was once a breathing human. She had been strangled and bled to death. I could still see the way her eyes popped out, her blood dripping down her feet. It was vivid in my head. Whosoever did that could do worse to Evangeline.

I don't know what compelled me to open my eyes. Probably the breathing on my face smelling faintly of jam, but regardless, I now understand why horror movies with children in them are, without a doubt, the most terrifying films of all. There is nothing quite like a silent child staring at you while you're sleeping or even worse, to wake up to. Some questions come to mind pretty fuckin' quick. Like how long have you been standing there watching over me like one of the ill-fated Grady sisters in The Shining?
