She is to be my Luna, however the crazy female has gone and shacked up with another. I want you to bring her to me. I will pay you handsomely and let you live.” I was in fact, intrigued by what the Alpha told me, however my instincts told me that although he believed this fact to be true, it was far from the truth. “You want me to kidnap your Luna.” I rolled the words off my tongue, none of this made any sense. However, the Alpha smiled and leaned back into his seat, almost at ease at my revelation.

Lacy chastised me. “I’m going to after I’m done with payroll.” “Oh, good call. Well, I'll see you two later.” “Bye,” I told Lacy. Lacy walked from my office and Sloan took a seat again as I got back to my work. As I typed away, Sloan asked a few more questions. “I get what an Alpha, Beta, and Gamma do, but what is a Luna and what does she do?” “The Luna is the Alpha’s mate. She helps with the Alpha duties and manages the packhouse.”

I growled to the empty room, slamming my fist onto the table. My wolf paced restlessly behind my ribs, his claws digging into my soul. He didn't care about politics. He didn't care about my reputation. He wanted her. He wanted to claim her, to mark her, and to roar to the world that she belonged to the Lycan Prince. But I couldn't. Jace knew the words the Luna wanted to hear and dished them out to her. He counted himself lucky to be fucking their Alpha's wife. He knew what would happen to him if they were caught but to him, the thrill was too greater than the consequences. "I need you to do something for me." The Luna rolled a bit away from him to see his face. "What is that?" Jace asked. "The Alpha wants to take on a new Luna. Find out who she is for me." Jace found this information strange. "A new Luna, why?" The Luna was trying not to be angry and bothered. "He wants a child." She spat, still nursing fear somehow deep inside her.

"And what's with the animal print onesie?" Alpha's face darkened, his hand on the shaft of his spear. But he restrained himself. He took a deep breath and approached the group. "Greetings, people of this land," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "I am Alpha Valle, I come in search of my Luna." The humans snickered, their eyes flicking to his dreadlocks and back to his face. "Luna? You look like you just stepped out of a bad 90s music video," one of them sneered.

She asked, sighed softly as I stared at her again. I could notice the little sadness in her face, and I totally understood why she was feeling that way. "Yes dear, but you can still be a Luna, if you marry an Alpha." I told her, hoping it would cheer her up. "What is a luna?" She asked me, while I smiled, staring at my innocent little daughter. "A luna is a wife to an Alpha, and she is just as respected and important as an Alpha." I explained, and immediately she smiled.

The Luna is responsible for bearing pups for the alpha male and supports him and the rest of the pack in their times of need," he explained, and I could understand Tabitha's eagerness to be with a man that does not love her. She was just power-hungry.

The black-haired girl plops down next to the brunette, laughs loudly and mockingly, and says, “Girl, that is NOT happening.” The brunette nods, “She’s right, it’s not. We’re all waiting for you to fail so that hopefully we can have a turn.” The black-haired girl adds, “If you get the Alpha to fall for you, then you become the Luna, and that’s a position that we all want.” “The Luna?” I question. The two of them look at me like I’m stupid, and then they burst into laughter. One of them waves their hand and says, “Just go!”
