“And do what? Ruin the business deal? Walk away from everything I’ve ever known?” She laughed bitterly. “You have no idea what it’s like.”
“You’re right,” he said, and something cold flashed across his face. “I don’t. Because when I don’t want something, I say no.”
“Well, good for you,” she said quietly, unable to keep the resentment out of her voice. “Must be nice having that kind of power. I believe you can call it off then.”
