She had never felt this way before and for a moment she felt like she was dishonoring her late husband’s memories. Nile was a great man, husband and father, but she never remembered him doing anything like this to her before. He wasn’t that big on romance, he was more of a cute klutz who tried to plan romantic candlelit dinners, but would only set the table cloth on fire, or burn the steaks, or even forget she was allergic to fish and would make her break out in hives. A little sigh escaped her mouth as she gently pulled her hand away from Aiden. He caught on to her mood. “Are you OK?” He asked.

When we were done, he lay on the bed beside me and we just stared at the darkness. "That was amazing." I had to admit. "This is my first time ever doing it." "Really?" He sounded really surprised. "I know it's surprising but it's true." I hugged his naked body. "And I'm happy the first person I'd ever have sex with is my husband." He came out of the shower shortly after, with just a towel wrapped around his waist, I gulped down hard and tried not to stare. ‘You can stare if you want, I am your husband after all’ Aaron said, catching me off guard. ‘You wish’ I said as I stood up to leave. ‘Wait’ he called out, and I looked at his face, trying really hard not to stare at his abs. ‘I am sorry about the cafe, she kissed me, I was caught off guard, i used to date her’ he said and a hint of relief swirled through me. ‘And why would I care, like I said this isn’t a love marriage, you can do whatever you want’ I said, then the look in his eyes changed, an expression formed on his face, an expression i couldn’t read.

He sat on the couch in front of me and raised an eyebrow with a playful smirk. "You're pretty ruthless." Looking up indifferently, I met his gaze and replied, "The same goes for you." He deliberately wore his shirt loose to show off his abs, exuding a rebellious, defiant attitude. From the way he looked, I knew he was my husband for this life, Jerome. In my past life, I'd seen him a few times at Hanson family banquets. He'd always come off as a playboy who couldn't stay away from women. I just didn't expect the wedding itself to be this absurd.

I explained. Sobs threatened to escape my lips as my eyes watered. "I – I didn't do anything wrong, I swear it." My voice quivered, "I have done everything for that household. I abandoned everything else for my family and that same family turned their backs on me because of another woman." I sniffed, glancing at the man beside me. "Did you know I found out the strange woman was my husband's first love? She came unannounced and took everything that belonged to me one after the other."

The husband said and pecked his wife's cheek before heading to the restroom. Charlene breathed slowly, she glanced at the woman beside her. She took a sip of champagne and smiled at Charlene. “You're beautiful–” Charlene didn't pivot her head to look at the woman beside her, she thought she couldn't be talking to her. She was still looking around when she felt a soft tap on her shoulder. “You come with your husband?” Puzzlingly, she parted her lips. “Um, no. I came with my dad.” She answered nervously.

Their footsteps faded down the hallway before I could hear anything more, but I remained frozen exactly where I stood, my pulse hammering so loudly I was certain it must be audible through the walls. I told myself I had misunderstood, that grief and exhaustion were twisting ordinary gossip into something monstrous, but the cold, creeping certainty settling into my bones refused to be reasoned away so easily. No wife has ever left the estate alive once she moved in, the words repeating themselves in my mind like a verdict I hadn’t been in the room to hear passed. I thought of the suitcases still zipped shut by the wardrobe, and suddenly my refusal to unpack felt less.

And the joke was on me as I, his assistant and a ‘wife in shadows’ stood right before the CEO's office, witnessing sounds of illegal pleasures bathing in the air, each of their hummus was like a cruel whiplash on my existence… With a deep inhale, I masked my anguish and knocked on the door, causing an abrupt pause in their fun as I pushed the door open. “What the hell do you want?” Adrian's voice rang like a distinct bark, even before I could enter. My heart coiled, suffocation seeped within me as the overly sweet fragrance of perfume hit my nostrils as I stepped inside, blending with the aroma of coffee in my hands that only added more to my headache. “Your coffee, Mr. Hale.” My words laced

My husband hurried inside the house and didn’t even notice the housekeepers who greeted him. When we got to a room, he quickly placed me on the soft bed. Without hesitation, he climbed on top of me. He quickly devoured my lips as if it were the most delicious dish he had ever tasted. I got carried away by the heat I was feeling because of his expert movements all over my body. This was my first time, and I had no fear or hesitation in my heart. I was ready to surrender my entire self to the man who had suddenly become my husband.

Now to give him something else to choke on. “You know,” I begin, leaning back in my chair with an air of casual grace, “I have done a great deal of thinking. I realize I have been terribly unfair to you, Brandon. You did not deserve my anger.” He looks at me, his gaze instantly suspicious. He knows me too well. “You are my husband,” I continue, layering my voice with honey. “And every person is entitled to their own… curiosities, even if they are completely baffling. So, I have decided I am one hundred percent supportive of this new dynamic.”
