The Gambler の小説・ストーリー

I’m supposed to be picking the right fighter, making sure his hundred grand doesn’t burn—but Knox’s hands are dragging my focus everywhere but the screen. My body is arching, greedy for more. His mouth presses heat into the skin just below my ear, and I can't think anymore. I just act. My finger taps Goliath—the thicker of the two men in the ring—just as his image flashes again. A second later, the screen blinks. Bet placed. Knox just gambled away six figures. Rich people are weird. I would comment on that any other day, but right now, my core is pulsing with a need I don’t know how to contain.

The yellow street light shone on her and the street, the cool, cigarette smell of nightlife and gamblers, wafting through her nostrils. As she entered the casino, she walked past several tables of gamblers and players. She knew exactly what she wanted and where she was headed. Stopping right in front of a certain table that had only one man standing in front of her. Her eyes settled on him. He had his broad, muscled, severely tattooed chest bared. He was putting on Grey pants and he had his hair all shaved off, giving off that bad-guy vibes. He reached out his hands and snuggled a folded was of bills into her hands while Irish gave him the cellophane bag in exchange.

And miraculously it reached great lengths. “Here ma’am” one of the masseuses handed her, her phone which was ringing constantly disturbing her. “What!” she screamed as she abruptly stood up. She couldn’t believe her ears. How can that man go on a date with another woman without telling her? What a husband! It’s time they stop calling him THE GAMER a BETRAYER would be suitable.

I said to Tiny. "Yep, this is where we make magic. This place is under the cop's radar and a safe place for people like us." Tiny smiled and winked at me. Some gamblers play cards and different types of games. It's not just a game of money or a priceless possession. It's a game where you bet your life on it. I was startled when I heard a gunshot coming from behind. One of the players was shot in the head after losing a bet on a card game.

“You work for Enamoured?” They moved out from the crowd of people and onto a small private balcony, Lynan still feeling a little disorientated from sleep. “Ah, no. I’m just a freelance photographer. So, I only work for that brand occasionally.” “I see. You seem rather worn out, Amulet said you’d been asleep for a while. You’re the last person for me to speak with tonight. I almost didn’t want to wake you.”

I said. "You want to gamble?" Marco asked, but I shot him a glare that made him lower his eyes. I'm Alessio DeLuca; why should I sit at a table gambling with losers when I have tons of money in my pocket? I wasn't just a mafia boss; I was a multi-billionaire. I told Marco what I wanted, and he gave me a seat where I could easily see everyone who walked into the gambling hall inside the nightclub. With my black hat covering my eyes, I awaited the arrival of the so-called Zach.

“If you’re ready, please swipe your card here. We can begin processing.” Two hundred million. I handed her my first card. A beat passed. Then: “Declined. Mrs. Alden, do you have another one?” The room broke into laughter. “Thorne,” someone cackled, “did you forget to give your little wife her allowance this month?” “She’s betting like a queen and doesn’t even have a dime.” “If you gamble without money, the rule is simple,” another man jeered. “You sell yourself.” “For two hundred million? I wouldn’t pay a thousand for that bitch. Still too expensive.”

Lady Overseer sneered and tossed the player to the floor. "Oh? Is that so? Then I'll just have to remove the restriction." She looked down at the players. "Care to gamble with me?" Gavin's face was drained of all color. He knew this boss's mechanic. The moment she asked, "Care to gamble with me?", every player present was already locked into the round. Win, and they would live. Lose, and they would die on the spot. So far, not a single person has ever walked out of her gambling game alive.

"Mr. Hayes, I wanted to raise too!" Sometimes people just had this mindset, like, after you lost money on one project, you just wanted to make even more on another one. Especially since they already decided, This is a sure-win deal! All the chamber members shook off their previous gloom, their eyes lit up, and their faces showed pure greed. If there was a mirror, they could take a look and see what they looked like now. Just like what you saw in TV dramas, those gamblers who already lost their minds at the table kept throwing in money, thinking they could definitely win it all back!

"He showed up at my family's casino out of nowhere and beat me, I mean completely crushed me. His gambling skills? Insane. I had no choice but to bow down." Mark gasped. "You're saying that guy from Millers Casino previously, that remarkable young gambler, he's your friend?" He'd heard whispers of that gambler, especially the story of using cards like weapons. “Exactly!" Desmond said with a proud grin. "After he mopped the floor with me, we became friends. He knows Epic, and once I'm good enough, he's gonna introduce us." His face practically glowed with excitement. “I don't buy it, unless you call your friend and have him come over," Mark challenged, looking unconvinced.
