Genie whispered with a grin as I just nodded. A god-awful sound poured from the open gate, that eerie mixture of manic laughter and tortured screaming that instantly had me thinking back to the prison I had been stuck in. It was far worse than that had been, though, considering it sounded like there were thousands of them rather than the few that had been trapped in that hellhole. Emily scolded. After minutes of climbing the team of four finally reached underground. Chambers broke the descent, flashes of painted walls catching their light. First—bright colors: gods crowned in gold, kings lifted in triumph. Then darker—angels turning away, mortals bound in chains, eyes painted so sharply they seemed alive. The beauty bled into menace with every step. "Damn," Caleb exclaimed, staring at the walls. "They even inscribed death spells on the walls" Emily whispered. "Death spells?" Eric muttered, his voice bouncing off the stone. "That's comforting."

The mad gods continued forming, each one a doorway for the Null. It was evident that this was the god Enosos, the god witch my mother had bargained with. The whole thing filled my with dread but also with curiosity. He beamed of passion and excitement as he his eyes only focused on me. He clearly had enjoyed my ogling.
