Haven’t I just seen something that same color?
We reach the top of the stairs. A small, snug bedroom comes into view, everything… everything smells like roses and… rain. A four-poster bed rests in the center of the room draped in lace, and on the cushions rests a golden box, the lid proppd open, with music flowing from it.
A golden rose spins in its center to the tune, its golden thorns catching the last light of sunset. I’m drawn to it, my fingers outstretched.
“Yes, girl,” Morgan rasps behind me. “Touch it.”
