“Ellie, when you were born, the sky was this crimson too.
“Ellie, do you blame me? I always taught you to be strong and brave.
“But I can’t stay strong anymore. Living is too painful, Ellie. Without you, how can I go on?”
After saying that, Mom closed her eyes in despair. Tears slid down her suddenly aged cheeks.
She leaped forward. “Mom is coming to be with you.”
The scene erupted into chaos. Amid the crowd’s screams, it was the end of Mom’s suffering.
A flash of white light appeared. I saw Mom’s soul rise to the sky, reaching out a hand to stroke me.
