"This thumping is something I'm feeling for the first time, Kalina. Can you feel how it's thumping so hard it feels like it's going to fall out of my chest?" "What?" Kalina suddenly stammered, 'Oh, my God, what is this?" Kalina could feel the irregular beating of King Arsen's heart. 'There's no way that ruling man loves me,' she protested as she quickly withdrew her hand from King Arsen's chest. "What, do you have a fever, my king?" Kalina asked. The king sighed and smiled, oh the smile that melts the hearts of women, Kalina could witness it firsthand. "Do you really not understand this, Kalina?" snorted King Arsen.

I snagged the keys to her chains, my heart thrashing in my chest. I shouldn’t keep her that way; wrapped in chains, hidden from civilization, from everyone, everything she loved. But she left me no choice. I regret every bit of it, but if only she could look me in the eyes and genuinely confess it— ‘I love you, Kaida. I try to scream, but my mouth doesn’t open, and nothing comes out. I watch his claws push into Aston’s chest. His eyes go big, and a tear rolls down his face. King turns to me and pulls his hand out with a gleam in his eyes. He stands up tall with his bloody hand in front of him. His fingers are closed around the heart of my mate, and the anguish I feel is overwhelming. He tosses the heart backward and saunters over to me.

Chapter 10: Growing Desire The king watched as Isabel's eyes widened in shock at his decree. He had to stifle a smile as she stumbled over her words while her face paled with worry. I slowly walked back to the bed and sank on it, my heart heavy and my head filled with confusion. I never knew the king had a mate. And I don’t know why I feel this way knowing that she’s dead. There’s this darkness in his eyes when he mentioned her like it broke his heart just talking about her.

“Now?” He was already moving towards the door, grabbing his jacket. “Baby, where are you?” “At work. Can you meet me here at the Heart Center?” “I’ll meet you on the moon, if that’s what you want.” She laughed again, and he was deliriously thrilled to hear it. “Fifteen minutes. I’ll be right there.” **** King almost ran into the Heart Center, and when he saw her standing there waiting for him, he kept right on moving. Without a word, he was on her, holding her close. He felt her breath on his chest, her hair tickled his chin, her curves melted against him.

Tapped it twice. "This is King."

The king’s heart dropped. The curse had awakened again.

He could feel his hot breath against his face and his heart beating against his own. “Diamond,” the king whispered as he caressed his cheek gently. “Do you know why I came tonight?” Jimmy shook his head. “Because I can't stay away from you.” A heart nearly stopped. Taegen didn't wait anymore to cup Jimmy’s cheeks and plant a kiss on his lips. Jimmy put his hands on his shoulders and moved his lips as gently and slowly as he could to feel all the love reigning over them. The king moved a hand from Jimmy's cheek to his waist.
