The Legacy Elle Kennedy Novels & Stories

“Some of you know me as Cassie. Others, such as the woman who allegedly stole a legacy. But I’m not here to defend a rumor. I’m here to end a lie.” Jeffery squeezed my hand under the console. I continued, “What you’re about to hear isn’t conjecture. It isn’t a smear. It’s the truth - in Edward Richards’ own words. And it’s time the world saw the cost of controlling a narrative.” The screen split. On one side, my image remained. On the other hand, raw footage. Edward, in his study years ago, speaking calmly to an unseen confidant: “Legacy is a matter of control, not biology. The heir doesn’t need blood. She needs a story.”

"She told me the last time she visited—she said if she was going down, she'd take everyone with her. She said the Vaughn legacy would end with her, that Richard's children and David's children would all pay for what their fathers did to her life. That's why I wanted to reach you. The only reason we are communicating right now, it's because the nurse on duty is new." Luna felt ice in her veins. "What do you mean by Eleanor wants the legacy to end with her?" "Eleanor never wanted the patents for money," Elise said desperately. "She wanted them because both men—her brother Richard and your father David—rejected her. She loved David once, did you know that? Before he met me. She introduced him t

But she didn’t feel dangerous tonight. She felt…abandoned. And then—her phone buzzed. Unknown number. A text message. Just one line. “You’re not the only one who bleeds for legacy. —L” Her breath caught. Her lips parted. She reread it. Legacy. That word wasn’t just a crown. It was a curse. Helena didn’t sleep that night. The next morning, she walked into the corporate vault, where all classified family documents were stored. Her ID scanned. She walked past her father’s original contracts, her mother’s secret archives, and paused at the file labeled:

“If I don’t make it, I want you to know that I tried. I tried to break free from my past. I married a man I thought I loved, hoping he would help me build a life beyond the legacy I was born into. But it took me too long to see the bars around our love. And maybe… one day, my daughter will finish what I started.” Elena’s breath trembled. “She believed I could do this.” Killian took the letter and read it quietly, his eyes sweeping the words, tears pooling at the corners. “She never stopped believing in you,” he whispered. Elena closed her eyes, letting the words wash over her. “This was written six months before she died. She talked about running. She had a plan. She wanted to take me away.”

Mother wasn't greedy like him. I grit the words out, fuming as the tears roll down at intervals. "Do not speak of her like you know what her choices would have been." "Fine, I won't do that, but the legacy only wanted the blessing you bring for seven months. That was before the strife with Red Valley began and I had to call a truce with the Erickson's. Now you don't expect me to turn my back on an agreement made with someone as powerful as a legacy werewolf. I had it all under control until Chase Erickson started looking for you."

They were a living map of her, a biological legacy of the woman currently lost in a dream of a motel room and a closet door. "She’s in there," Elana whispered, placing a steadying hand on Fennigan’s shoulder. "She gave them her strength, Fennigan. Look at them. She didn't leave you with nothing. She left you with everything she is. Now we just have to wait for her to remember the way back to us." Fennigan tightened his hold on the twins, his heirs, and the only two pieces of Leela he could still touch. He looked out the dark kitchen window, his reflection ghostly in the glass, and wondered if his brother and father were safe under the same stars.

"It was the name of the character in that history book I liked. The one who stayed behind to save the library while the city was burning. It’s a bit nerdy, I know." "It’s not nerdy at all," Igor said. "It’s meaningful. Killian Thomas Vance." I stared at the screen for a long time. It felt like I was looking at a stranger, but a stranger I really wanted to meet. "If I click 'submit,' the Hayes heir is officially gone," I whispered. "There will be no one left to inherit the company. No one to carry on the 'legacy.'" "The legacy is a cage, Killian. You’re just letting the bird out," Igor said.

"I'm glad I didn't have to survive what she survived. But I'm grateful she survived it so I could be free." I pulled my daughter and granddaughter close. Three generations embracing in front of the Peace dress. In front of Mom's legacy. "That's her legacy," I said. "Not the designs. Not the company. Not even the revenge story. Her legacy is us. Free. Healed. Whole. Three generations of women who get to choose love without fear." "That's what she was reborn to do," Lily added. "Not destroy him. Transform us." We left the museum into bright sunshine. February in New York. Cold but beautiful. The city where Mom fought her battles. The city where she won her wars. The city where she finally foun

he added and Andrew felt like clutching onto his neck, hitting him so much that he would meet the same demise as Elena. “I hope you’re happy now that you finally ended the innocent girl!” he sneered, earning more laughter from Quincy. “Innocent?” Quincy took some steps to where he was and bent over to Elena’s lifeless body. “Tch, tch, tch, so sorry for her. I wished she never died.” then he looked up at Andrew and curved his lips into a smirk. “Wrap her up, go and dispose her very well. I’ll attend to her funeral if you plan to give her one,” he countered, and raised himself from the ground.
