"This beautiful day is to celebrate my engagement to the best man, the most wonderful of men." Lucky watches, trying to blend into the background, but it’s impossible. Alicia continues, her voice a mixture of sweetness and deceit. "You see, the first time I met Lucky, I knew he was the one for me. Oh boy! The butterflies! If your device is real, why didn’t it protect your family?” I snort. “Can’t you see, Adam, it wasn’t a lack of luck that killed you and your family, It wasn’t even Livy who killed you…it was just your stupidity and bad choices that a stray bullet found its way into your gut.” Adam’s face turns sheet white, all the blood draining away at once as my final words hit him like a second bullet.

He had been in the hospital for months, and he was lucky to be alive. So many people had told him that—"You're lucky to be alive, James." He gritted his teeth as the montage played through his mind; so many solicitous faces, telling him how lucky he was. He didn't feel lucky. He had lost almost his entire family. He was bankrupt from all the medical bills, and his home had been repossessed. He could barely drag his crippled ass to the grave of the love of his life. How was this "lucky"?

A life that has been filled with so much chaos and uncertainty. If I had told little Amelia that one day she would be helping to prepare a family Christmas meal with a boy who loved her and his wonderful family; I would have said that you're talking rubbish. She chuckled lightly at the memory. “He said, ‘I’m the luckiest man in the world. ‘But you’re just about to die,’ I told him, confused. Then he reached out a hand and brushed my cheek lightly. ‘Yes, but your beautiful face will be the last thing I see before I die, so that makes me the luckiest man in the world.’”

Alice mumbled. Leia stared at her with so much disapproval, but Alice turned a blind eye and opened her emergency comic book. She was reading Infinity Inc., the first volume and thirty-fourth issue. Of course, she had already read it, but she brought it today because this is where Hazard, a villain character, first appeared. Hazard was just like Alice. She brought bad luck to everyone around her but herself. And right now, Alice could relate to her more than anything else. When lunch came, Alice and Leia decided to take separate ways.

HE said. Patrice gave him a sheer look. “What do you mean?” She asked. L smiled. “You are an orphan. You grew up in an orphanage. You were released when you are legal. You were able to stand up for yourself. You were able to send yourself to school. You are even excelling at school even if you have a job. You made it. Don’t you think that’s luck as well?” He asked. Patrice was shocked to hear all those words from L. He was just too sensible today. Or at least this time. He says the right words. Those right comforting words that she ever badly want to hear. Just awesome.

There were several bloody scratches on his gaunt face, yet his eyes shone brightly as he smiled and urged me to eat quickly. “You’re hopeless, aren’t you? I’ll have to earn a fortune someday just to support you,” Shawn said with little thought and much carefreeness. Tears streamed uncontrollably down my cheeks as I lowered my head further. It was the first time anyone had ever been so kind to me. I was really moved. Therefore, back then, I lent him my rabbit’s foot luck. He could then steal ham sandwiches without getting caught by the director. From then on, everything was smooth sailing for him. Even the director began to treat him kindly.

I ran into a scene, where some gang had left a man to die, he was white, they took his car, and made away with his money, and almost everything he had, he looked like he was just coming in, I copied the plate number on the car they came in with and also took the plate number of the wounded man, I called a police friend of mine who quickly started off to get them while I tried to get the man to a hospital, I visited him everyday, and when he recovered I was the first person he saw, he heard about everything from the police who had now recovered his stolen items, and had the criminals behind bars, he was so grateful he wanted to meet my parents, but when he heard my story he adopted me instead
