1: I’m Dying Day 1/365 Days VICKY "Your heart is very weak, and despite treatment, we’re afraid you may only have about 365 days left." These were the words that made my world stop. What was I going to do now? My husband wouldn't take this news well...Williams wouldn't take this news well.

Only a fierce, unwavering blank stare. "I don't need 365 days, Alessandro," she continued, her voice soft but firm. "It's just day three and I've decided. I love you, Alessandro. Please... don't push me away."

Matt asked. "Yes. I applied to four different companies, and they were the only one who replied to me," Ava said. "So, which position did you apply for?" Matt asked. "The personal assistant to the CEO of the company," Ava said. "Really?" Matt asked. He could not believe his sister's luck. "Yes and I am to resume next week Monday" Ava said happily. She is now very happy that she now has a job that she can use to take care of her and her brother.

And then I looked up. The building towered above me—glass, steel, and quiet intimidation. It shimmered like money. Cold, distant, impossible money. This… this was going to be my home? For the next 365 days? My stomach turned. I adjusted the strap of my bag, suddenly aware of how ordinary I looked in the reflection of the sleek windows. One hundred days. One hundred days of whatever this was. And somehow, I’d agreed to it. Or… had I?

A sudden knowing look flashes through her eyes. “Souls..”, she finishes his sentence. “Exactly. Without that, we can only stay for up to three days. Then, we would have to go back to the underworld. And I—” “Wait, you keep saying ‘we’. There’s more of you?”, Stella can’t help but ask. Luca ignores her question, his eyes hinting that he would like to finish without her interrupting. The questions could come later. Once he’s sure the Stella won’t cut in his sentences, he proceeds with his words.

He is harmful for me. Someone I should avoid. Only three more days. That thought repeats in my head as I wipe the sweat from my face after finishing another set. Three more days and my time here will be over. After that, I will not have to worry about Caleb anymore.

His face buried in the crook of her neck, his voice deep and low. “Are you certain about this?” “Yes,” she said flatly. “Give me an heir, and I’ll ensure you’re taken care of for life.” She reached for a folded document on the bedside table and laid it out before him. Echo traced his finger along the crisp edges. “A contract… 365 days?” He looked up at her reflection. “Why this term?” “I just finalized my divorce. My parents will push for me to remarry soon—they haven’t said it yet, but I see it in their eyes. I won’t be tied to another useless, arrogant womanizer ever again.”

I set the phone down and close my eyes. Three months. Ninety days. I can do this. I have to.

Silence stretched between us. Lucan finally moved, he set his glass down as he stared at me. “What a strong argument you have Mrs Williams, but as you said we didn't go all the way.” he said leaning slightly towards me. He was directly opposite me, yet it seemed like there was no space between us. “ I have actually made adjustments on my end of the deal. Instead of a night, I want 100 days with you.”
