I was in such a good mood that when I arrived at the company, I replied to the greetings of all the employees who passed me by. As I walked by Pete's desk, a relieved sigh escaped my lips when I found his desk empty. Throwing my office door open, a short yelp escaped my throat as soon as I spotted Pete. “What are you doing here?” I asked, placing a hand over my chest. He showed me the document in his hand. “I came to submit the document I had to rework.” “Is that all?” “Yes. I'll be leaving now.” As Pete moved to bypass me, I held him back. “About yesterday... why did you get involved?”

I was thinking of what to say to rectify the situation when he asked, "So, you want to come with me and have a little adventure?" "Not really." I wrinkled my nose and pouted. "It's just that we've been apart for so long, and I miss you." "Are you that clingy?" Sean sighed. His expression seemed slightly troubled, but his demeanor was gentle, so my request didn't really upset him. "In that case, next time, I'll have my secretary notify you," he said, playfully scratching my chin as if teasing a pet. I didn’t think it was a bad idea to be his pet because pets belonging to wealthy individuals often enjoyed much better lives than people from less affluent backgrounds.

Tyler POV I was about to leave the transportation company when the secretary informed me that Jade wanted to come in. I allowed her entry. Soon she and Ethan walked through the door. It was late, and I intended to close the office early to try to meet with Emily. Most of the employees had already left, and there were only a few contracts scattered across the desk that I would need to review. "I didn't know you were going to bring your pet dog," I provoked angrily, looking at that repulsive man in front of me.

“Is that your dad ?” I ask in a breathless voice while pushing Pete to dislodge him from my boob he was suckling on like a greedy baby hungry for milk but he won’t budge. Pete is high again and for some reason very cranky today. Since he got the summons from his father’s secretary, “Pete, stop! Your dad just walked in I think” I have never met Robert Williams before but everyone who is into finance knows who he is.

I brought out my phone and dialed his number. " I want that bag in my office now!" I said immediately he picked. " Thought you said you weren't eating" Pete said, dropping the bag on the table smiling. " Get out of my office!" I shouted at him After Pete left, I ate the food in silence. This was my first time bringing food to the company and eating in this office. The food was delicious. I'm not surprised at her culinary skills, she's a country girl and would know how to cook. At least she learned that well from her parents.

For the rest of the day, I focus on doing my job, looking beautiful, taking stellar pics, and smiling so hard my cheeks are screaming at me and once I finish, I collect my things and check my phone to find that many messages wait for me. “What the hell?” I hiss, taking out my phone to see who the hell would send me so many messages and when I see that it is the one person I don’t want to associate with, I let a frustrated huff escape me. “Don’t you have a life?” I mutter, opening and scrolling through the messages that are pointless. G: I’ve arrived at my office. G: This meeting is boring. G: Don’t forget our date. Again and again, the messages appear, but none of them are even worth respond

"When this is over, I'm gonna take a long vacation," Pete said, flexing his shoulders as they walked back to the conference room. "Make those reservations for two," Rico replied, checking out the trending topics on his phone. "I'm gonna need a little more time to decide, Reyes," he heard Jessi say from the office they were just walking past. "I'll catch up to you, Pete, I just remembered something," he said, barely audibly. "What?" "Hmm?"

It's so unlike him. He is not supposed to be bothered about anything, especially when it comes to her. She's just his pet, a pet she got in exchange of money. Shaking his head, he drove off after comforting himself with that. Meanwhile... Isabella got to her class, Jane was the first person to wave at her. Even if she's not happy, she needs to at least pretend to be when she's with Jane. Isabella smiled and walked up to her. "Good morning Bella, I thought you won't come to school today since you were late" Jane said giving her some space to sit down beside her.

He just nods and we finish the drive in silence and by the time we get there, I’m prepared to hear the worst. Axle parks and we walk inside, straight up to Pete, who is behind the desk. The second he sees me, he comes around and says, “Thanks for coming so quickly. Follow me right this way.” He makes no move to tell Axle not to follow us. He was the one who told me to bring someone anyway. He leads us to an office and sits on a chair that is opposite a couch. Axle and I sit on the couch next to each other, me gripping onto his hand like it’s my lifeline. Which it might actually be.

He takes the elevator to the eight floor where the Human Resource Management aspect of the whole office is and is shown his own office. He looks at his desk as he drops his carton, he picks up the plaque that has his name on it and smiles. "Randall Peterson, HR Officer." He chuckles, knowing that the officer there is literal, just like the police officer. He's come here to be a detective as well, but here, he'll be a detective for the staff. He chuckles and drops it down. He wears the lanyard that has been given to him and walks back to the elevator. He presses the twenty second floor and up it goes.
