He slowly stood up, staring down the man who was shouting orders.
The man’s face went ashen at the sight, but he clenched his jaw and returned Buddy’s hard stare.
“Settle down, Bud.” Terra muttered to the dog, who listened and sat back down, though his glare and hackles remained standing up on end.
The man rolled his eyes and looked at his partner. “I told you we should have shook the dog. He’s just going to cause problems.”
“Alright, then you can drag the mutt out of here,” the driver responded, his voice low and almost transparent. “I wasn’t going to get bit by the thing.”
