“Your mother was a black panther?” I ask.
“Is there another kind?” Orsa snaps.
Hope growls, but her father does too.
“I said knock it off, Orsa, or you’ll find yourself sleeping outside tonight.”
Orsa looks pissed, but she stops snapping at me.
“There is another kind, actually. Southern panthers, like Florida panthers, are fawn colored, not black,” I say calmly.
