"I'm fine. I just tripped. Please don't blame Preston for it." That single sentence only served to deepen their resentment toward me. "How could you be so vicious, Preston?" Sophie said, looking at me with pure disappointment. "You've really disappointed me." I ignored them. One by one, I picked up the apples and ate them. When I was done, I turned to them and calmly said, "I'm done. Can I leave now?" Everyone was surprised. They had never expected someone who always bowed his head to turn resolute.

I much preferred being ignored than beaten. I knew I was smarter than the other boys. I had taught myself to read and write in three languages. I knew the history of our pack by heart. I was good at science and maths. Still all this did me no good as I was a lowborn and my delicate appearance did me no favours. I was shunned by the pretty girls I approached, they preferred the rough, aggressive boys who flirted with them. The boys didn't come near me unless they had to, even though some of them often looked at me in a way that made me uncomfortable and I knew they were curious about me.

I muttered under my breath, pulling out my notepad and pen. He laughed, the sound rich and unbothered. “Ouch. That almost hurt.” I ignored him and flipped to a blank page. “Let’s go over your dietary preferences. Anything you absolutely hate?” He tilted his head, considering me. “I’m a simple man, Evelyn.” I highly doubted that. “No processed junk, no excessive sugar. I like my food fresh, organic, and well-seasoned.” He paused, eyes gleaming with amusement. “And I have a particular fondness for anything served by a beautiful woman.”

"Abby that's not how it works, just because you're older does not mean Aiden does not get to have his choice and preferences." "What are preferences?" she made a face. "It's when you really like something especially." I smiled, taking her hand, "so Aiden is allowed to have a preference that is different from yours, that way there are many options to choose from." "So can we get my preference too?" "Of course Princess, you say the word and we'll get it for you." After buying almost every possible fruit we could get at the market, the kids and I made our way back to the car. My phone chimed again, reminding me of the other message I had relieved back at the pumpkin farm.

“You need help. You’re a grown man with all this and you never went to get help?” Odin shrugged as if he didn’t know what to say. “How come you never told me you crushed on me in school and got bullied for it?” Anderson blurted it out, his cheeks red as he stared at his childhood friend. His own face reddening, Odin avoided his gaze, “why would I? You’re not like me, Anderson. You only like women. I like both, actually, there isn’t much I don’t like. I could fuck a knot in a tree if the tree was pretty enough. I like pretty things.”

Raine’s POV “That prick,” I muttered under my breath, kicking a loose rock as Lena and I made our way back to town. "I swear, I like him better in his wolf form." Lena snorted, giving me a knowing look. “You know, you might be the only person who thinks that.” I rolled my eyes. “That’s because you’re all blind. He’s just a big, arrogant mutt.” “Mm-hmm.” She hummed, smirking. “A mutt that seems to be softening toward you.”

I nodded, "Fine, do you have anything on him, anything that'd help in knowing what he likes?" "I mailed you his profile. Just a tip, his favorite color is red." "You got it, boss." I went back to my place, and read his profile. What he liked, what he disliked. From what I gathered about him, he liked being praised and he liked bold women in skimpy outfits. He was a boob guy, so deep neck it is, and he was a bit handsy with the woman he had been with, okay, not a bit but a lot handsy.

Lyla collapsed, her face ashen. "You dared deceive me!" Lukas was consumed by rage. He kicked her aside. "You made me believe I would have a pureblood heir!" "Lukas, please..." Lyla crawled toward him, trying to grab his leg. "I love you... I just wanted a child..." "Love?" Lukas shoved her away in disgust. "What would a filthy creature like you know of love?" His sons Patrick and Anton were just like Ben, funny and cool. Lee was there too, but he acts like an outcast around the big guys. I still don’t get what his problem is. His attitude is like a puzzle that I can’t solve. Although, I see the bigger picture now. He is close to Ben, but with Ben always talking to me about cars and school, he became the outcast.

Our height didn't differ much having slight variations, but overall you can say we looked alike. But only in looks we were similar. Our preferences are completely different. She is more of a chocolate person, which whenever she eats, she always end up in some sort of trouble. But that wouldn't stop her from eating them. She likes dark, vintage colours and can survive in whatever situations she find herself in. She is a pure sadist and extreme savage person with the ability to burn the opposite person with her words alone.
