They sat side-by-side, their shoulders touching, but their souls were miles apart. "Elena," Alexander said, his voice barely audible over the hum of the engine. There are more vampires in places of power and influence than ever before—senators, CEOs, cultural icons. It threatens the humans. They don't want coexistence anymore; they want to purge us."
