The Don Lost His Love

The Don Lost His Love

I looked up, my gaze cutting through the crowd to land on a face so gaunt and haggard it was barely recognizable. It was Damian. He’d done it. He’d burned every favor and used every dark contact in the underworld to cross the Atlantic and hunt down a classified meeting. He stood in the doorway, chest heaving, his eyes a roadmap of broken red veins. The Great Don of New York looked like a beggar, his eyes filled with a plea that crawled in the dirt. Security moved to intercept him, but he stood there like a hollowed-out puppet, staring at me, his breath hitching.

The Don Who Never Meant What He Said

The Don Who Never Meant What He Said

Are you really leaving? [I was wrong. I shouldn't have brought Daphne to Thanksgiving. I only wanted to make you jealous, to be sure you still loved me.] [Don't go, I'm begging you, don't go!] His face was white and his thoughts were an endless plea, and the words out of his mouth cut deeper than ever. “Scarlett, I'd think hard if I were you. The women who'd kill to be the Donna of the Sterling family could line up from Sicily to New York.”

THE MAFIA DON'S PRETTY BOY

THE MAFIA DON'S PRETTY BOY

“He’s already unraveled.” Jean’s eyes were wild. Bright. Lost. He looked like a child with a bleeding crown…still convinced it was made of gold. Don Ramon stepped forward slowly, his cane clicking sharply against the stone. “Jean,” he said, voice as heavy as thunder, “you’re Lola Amelie’s son.” Everyone went still. Jean’s eyes flicked to Ramon, a smile twisting on his lips. “So the old lion finally recognizes his sins.” Ramon didn’t flinch. “If that’s true, I need to know how. When.”

Trapped Between The CEO Brothers

Trapped Between The CEO Brothers

"You... You are pregnant, right? And I am the father." ***** Last night, After Gilbert left his room, another visitor opened Jean's bedroom door once more, and Dionysus, also known as Dio, stepped in, commanding attention with his presence. "Still alive, I see." Dio began with his creepy-villain-like voice. Jean, who had been staring at the ceiling, turned toward Dio. "Barely," He replied. The word heavy with the remnants of his earlier anger and the alcohol that still coursed through him. Dio pulled up a chair and sat down. His eyes looked serious.

WANTING MY STEP—BROTHER

WANTING MY STEP—BROTHER

His tall frame slipping toward the pool area, a shadow against the glowing lights. Juan followed my gaze, then shook his head. His words spilled out quickly, as though time was running out. “Dante is going to come at you when you least expect it. And when that happens, I just hope you don’t end up like Bianca.” Her name hit me like a knife. My throat tightened, and for once, I had no words. Before I could gather myself, Juan turned and slipped away into the dark, swallowed by the night. I didn’t chase him. I should have—if only to demand clarity, to force him to explain what he meant or what he had discovered. But instead, I went the opposite way, toward the figure I’d glimpsed. Toward Dante

Billionaire's Regret, Too Late!

Billionaire's Regret, Too Late!

“What the hell is going on, Aurora? I know you weren’t saying the truth back there. How did you get involved with someone like Manuel?" Aurora turned her head sideways and suddenly smiled, "Remember I told you I was seeing someone but it wasn’t anything serious? Yeah, that someone is him.” Danica’s steering wheel shook in shock after hearing this. “Fuck. He’s…he’s…your plaything?” Aurora smiled, “Awesome, right?” Danica gasped.”Your plaything was almighty Manuel Dumont?! Like the heir to the Dumont empire, the most feared man in Madrid. I don’t know how, but I have greater respect for you now.”

Nightmares

Nightmares

Baron made a funny face and went to his room "Won't you come get a hug, sweetheart?" Dawn called "Leave me alone!!" Baron shouted from his room, feigning anger. Over dinner that night, Juana was moody. As much as she loved and enjoyed celebrating birthdays, she was afraid. It was a regular thing for her to see something mysterious on the right preceding her birthday.

365 Days With Santiago Castillo

365 Days With Santiago Castillo

For all I know, this man could be selling me off or something. "The Don himself is here." A man's voice boomed through the air and I saw him walk in. He looked like a small fry compared to Santiago but he had a powerful aura about him, one that wasn't less than Santiago's. "Don San himself is here. I thought you would send one of your minions… this must be important to you," he said sarcastically and took his seat. His eyes were fastened on me, he was staring at me in sheer ecstasy. "Is she an exchange? If yes, she is a good payment," the man said, biting his lips lustfully. I shifted on my seat and I swallowed hard.

Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

In the stillness of the night, Juan returned home and booted open the gate. The commotion roused Melody from her sleep. With Hester's assistance, she made her way to the living room, where she saw a gloomy Juan. She wrinkled her brows and asked, "Is anything wrong?" "You come over!" Juan stepped forward and grabbed Hester roughly. His furious look caused her to gasp in fear. "Juan, what are you doing?" "Don't call me that!" Juan snapped. "How could you be so malicious? Did you replace that $10 billion?"

I really like this book but why is it being dragged so much? Debra keeps getting herself in weird situations like the Island kidnapping and then her engagement kidnapping. I get the authors are paid by pages but if it’s too dragged then the readers eventually lose interest and move to finished books
