The Red Thread Novels & Stories

Her lips pressed thin. She lowered her foot, then lifted it again, slower this time. She twisted her knee, angling her foot farther. The red thread sparked, pulsed, and dimmed, as if she were testing the invisible perimeter of a cage she could not yet see. The sight of it tightened something old and buried beneath her ribs. Red. Once before, it had been thread.

"Each thread represents a choice, a moment of destiny. You must follow the threads that resonate with your hearts and lead you to the Harmonic Shard." The heroes stepped forward, their fingers brushing against the threads as they followed their intuition. Each thread revealed glimpses of lives intertwined, decisions made, and the consequences that followed. They navigated the intricate web, their hearts guiding them through the labyrinth of fate.

I could almost cry from how right it felt. But just as I was starting to relax, Aaron’s voice cut through again. Low, mocking, deliberate. “Careful, Edward. Bonds like that have a way of showing you things you’d rather keep hidden.” Edward’s muscles tensed, and the light flickered again. The priestess hissed under her breath and slammed her staff into the floor. The sound boomed through the temple, and the light stabilized. “Hold your emotions steady!” she barked. “You risk undoing the sacred thread!”

The red light condensed into a thread, pointing towards Levi’s chest. This was the power of Alpha Levi. But it was like the red thread in the hands of the Moon Elder, tying it for mortals. Caroline had once told Arista that every mortal had their own red thread. She was very admiring and asked where her red thread was. Caroline smiled and said she was an orchid. As long as there were bees, there was no need for a red thread. Even now, Arista didn’t understand the meaning of this, but before she understood, she had...

The thread glowed under the lamplight like blood spun into silk. Ximena sat cross-legged on the chaise in her suite, her tablet beside her, sketchbook open on her lap. She’d pinned the red thread directly against the original Crimson Core sketch—the exact design that had been traced and returned to her in that envelope. It matched. Exactly. Same tensile sheen. Same cut finish. This wasn’t a coincidence— it can never be called a coincidence! She traced her finger over the faint pencil etching beneath the hem of the traced version: *Look again.*

Tonight, she came by herself. --- The Thread of Fire. She saw it before she touched it. A strand of living flame, shot through with darker bands that pulsed out of rhythm with creation itself. Nyxara’s thread. Selene had known it since the girl’s first breath. But now… The thread resisted the Loom’s order. It strained against the weave, pulling at it, almost tearing free. And woven dangerously close, feeding tendrils of oily black, was another thread — older, thicker, wrong.

I keep running, there’s a gunshot and it all goes black. I shot up from the bed drenched in sweat, heart racing. I look at my surroundings and realize I’m in my apartment in L.A. I rub my eyes and try to focus on my room. This nightmare has been occurring every night for the past six months. Something is going to have to change so I can actually get some sleep. I look at the alarm clock, 5:30am, crawling from the bed, grabbing my work clothes and heading for the shower.

the blue thread I saw earlier was not my hallucination. That thing still exists. It truly binds Ale and me together like a pair of handcuffs locking us both at the same time. It's just that I no longer see the gold and red threads from before. Perhaps only the owners of those threads can see them. And I know who they are. As I said, I had seen it. However, I never believed it because one she-wolf couldn't possibly have three mates. Three fated mates, all of whom couldn't be easily let go.

The woman—the Wound—was gone. Only the threads remained. They spun around him now, not chaotic, but pulled taut. They were not ropes. They were roads. Each one shimmered with lives within. One thread showed Kaela, bloodied, standing over his body. Another showed Syra, alone, weeping before a Pack that would never follow her. A third showed Sira and Raelin, burned and broken, holding each other as the sky went dark. And in the center, a thread that did not show a future, only a mirror.

"That's impossible... I saw him..." "Saw what?" I pushed the door open and walked into the office. Gauze was still wrapped around my forehead, but my eyes were clear. "Saw my father and I trapped in the fire?" Senna's head snapped up, her eyes filled with disbelief. "You... How..." I let out a cold laugh and came to a stop beside Maggie. "Senna, did you think getting a second life meant you could do whatever you wanted? Too bad. This time around, I came back too."
