My response makes him peer up from his phone. He tilts his head. “But you did look like shit last night. Let’s ignore the fact that you’re five-nine.” He adds a cocky smile.

"Is everything in place?" Maxwell's voice was low and tense as he spoke into his phone, his eyes scanning the busy street outside the seamstress's shop. "Yes, sir," came the gruff reply. "The team is ready. We're just waiting for your signal." Maxwell's lips curled into a cold smile. "Excellent. Remember, we need this to be quick and clean. No mistakes."

Besides, I can still look and admire other guys, even if we were.”

The mall’s speakers chimed in, “Congratulations to the happy couple for winning the Best Couple Award! Enjoy a five-day, four-night luxury honeymoon trip worth fifty thousand dollars!” I took a deep breath and turned to my coworker. “I’ll go give them their prize.” I grabbed the prize voucher and walked over to the two of them. They were still lost in each other’s eyes, completely unaware of my presence. Coldly, I said, "Congratulations, Mr. Whitaker."

The guests all turned to look at him. He straightened his shirt and said scornfully, "I'm sorry for troubling all of you to come tonight. I apologize, but we Garners will never let such a vicious, manipulative woman marry into our family! I now announce that I'm calling off my wedding with Luna!"
