He’s magnificent in his fury, shadows tearing my chamber apart like a storm. But he’s predictable. I planned for this, counted on his chaos to paint him mad. The ritual circle he’s found—let him think it’s a secret. It’s bait, laced with shade-binder runes to trap his power. My spies watch from the shadows, their eyes glinting in the corners. The council will hear of this, every shattering blow.
“You found my art,” I say, voice silk over steel, stepping closer. His shadows lash at me, but my aura slices through, cold and sharp, deflecting them. “But it changes nothing. Your human’s dying because you can’t control yourself, Perez. Not because of me.”
