After returning home, I went straight to the basement without uttering a single word. When the last bit of light above my head disappeared, all I could see was darkness. According to what I'd read, a person could only be driven to the brink of death after going seven days without food or water. Thus, I hoped they would lock me up for seven days. That way, I should be able to bypass the system and finally die. Every day, I relied on the voices outside to determine the time. By the sixth day, I was already so weak from hunger that I could barely move.

He closed the door behind him carefully. "Give me the brief, Gerald," I said, my voice dropping in a flat tone. "Marcus just called from Manhattan, sir," Gerald said, adjusting his earpiece. "Satellite server breach. Not a random hack. Tokyo Holdings is querying our archives." My jaw tightened. A sharp pain shot up my temple. "Which partition?" I growled. "Seven-year archive," Gerald reported, his voice crisp and military. "Target files: Sterling family assets." A cold, lethal fury settled deep into my marrow. Seven years ago. I glance at Lucas, who seems nonchalant about her departure. “She´s made her choice. It is well within her rights to choose a different side if she doesn´t believe in this cause.” Lucas just nods. “Tank, how do we go about helping Wendy?” “We´re going to require Seven.” “Seven oracles?” I gasped “No. Seven the Oracle.” Interesting name. They help to keep the supernatural world in balance and seeing as those who made this seal were exceptionally powerful and had been undefeatable all these years, not that anyone had ever dared to defy them, you could picture how strong and impenetrable the seal would be.
