Betrothed (Book #6 in the Vampire Journals)

Betrothed (Book #6 in the Vampire Journals)

Caleb reached out and placed a large gold coin into the man's beefy palm. The man looked down, eyes opening wide at the large piece of shining gold. Caitlin realized that that probably represented enough money to pay for a thousand pieces of meat. The man quickly set to cutting huge chunks of meat off his spit, handing them in rapid-fire to Scarlet. The second they hit her hand, she reached over and dangled them in front of Ruth, who jumped up and snatched them off her fingers. Scarlet laughed with delight. The man handed her another piece, and she did it again—and again, Ruth snatched the meat.

Not The Man She Wanted

Not The Man She Wanted

It was actually a story about the specific loneliness of a man who has walked away from a powerful family and discovered that the walk away from power is always longer and colder than it looks from the beginning. I told him about the first week at Royal Gold Mine. The desk on twenty-three surrounded by people who looked through me like furniture. How I had made myself invisible so thoroughly that it had taken five years to remember I had edges. "You have edges," he said. "I know that now." "You always did. You just stopped showing them." We walked. The six inches of air between us was the most contested territory in the city. On a Tuesday night at eleven thirty he said something I hadn't exp

HIS SECRET ADDICTION

HIS SECRET ADDICTION

"Everyone in that book makes terrible decisions. That's the point." "He knows the other man is lying and he keeps giving him more access. It's not romantic, it's a liability." "It's about choosing someone even when it's risky," I said. "Which you would know something about." He looked at me. "Are you comparing us to a novel where someone gets shot in chapter six?" "No one gets shot in chapter six." "I'm on chapter six." I laughed. Actually laughed, the kind that comes out before you can decide whether to let it. He watched me with the expression he reserved for moments he thought I wasn't paying attention. Like he was storing it somewhere.

So she was sure this man was the one. After all, Panda B was an association of business men and women. And judging by this man's appearance, he must be from there. The Beta & the jewel thief - book 6

The Beta & the jewel thief - book 6

His pale, almost grey skin, has the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. “Who’s she?” The man snarls my way. “Who are you?” Bram asks him with as much venom laced in his words. The man’s eyes shift to Bram, “You can call me Twenty-Nine. Shadow sends his regards.” He glances at me again, his lip curling up with distaste. “Again, who is she?” “The person that’s going to get Shadow what he wants,” Bram replies with a matter of fact. Twenty-Nine - such a strange name. Even for a street name. Everything about this man is strange and wrong. He has no scent, skin the color of ash with eyes that seem to peer into your very soul with an air of evil intent.

This is a wonderful story. This book could stand alone, but if you read all the books in this series, this book will open a beautiful world. Once you start to read you have trouble putting it down. Highly recommend as well as all the other books in the Delta’s Daughter Series.

I really enjoyed this series. Many books on this platform have similar stories, which gets boring really fast. This book series kept me entertained the whole time. It had the perfect balance of romance and action. I enjoyed getting to know each character in more detail as each book was added.

Frequently Asked Questions

'The Sixth Man' by David Baldacci is one of those books that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The story follows Edgar Roy, a genius with an eidetic memory who’s accused of a series of gruesome murders. Enter Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, two private investigators with a knack for unraveling complex cases. They quickly realize Edgar’s situation is far more sinister than it appears, tangled in a web of government conspiracies and high-stakes espionage.

The pacing is relentless, with twists that hit you when you least expect them. Baldacci masterfully blends action, mystery, and a touch of legal drama, making it impossible to put down. What stands out is the chemistry between King and Maxwell—their banter adds levity to the dark themes. The book also delves into themes of trust and betrayal, leaving you questioning who’s really pulling the strings. If you love stories where the underdog fights against shadowy forces, this one’s a must-read.
