His fingers brushed against hers, and he closed his eyes briefly, savoring the touch of his daughter. "You have to throw it gently," Zyran instructed softly, pointing to the white ducks swimming in the water. "Like this." He tossed a crumb. A duck quickly swam over to eat it. "They are hungry!" Lorna giggled, throwing a handful of crumbs into the water. "They are," Zyran smiled, watching her laugh. "What is your favorite animal, Lorna?" "Butterflies!" Lorna answered brightly. "And big dogs. Do you have a dog, Mr. Zyran?"

Just having warm water rise above my shoulder was enough to turn me into a puddle of goo. I closed my eyes for a moment and immediately frowned. Something felt off. Eyes snapping open I was greeted by the sight of a duckless bath. Allen! How could I have forgotten him? Allen was a handsome self-inflating turquoise duck that Nash gave me for my birthday when I was younger. Even after so many years, Allen was still my bath time companion. Every time he made that face at her, she melted. An idea occurred to her. Taking out her camera, she pulled in Caleb and asked him to smile. He obliged, and she managed to get one picture before Tyler photobombed them. She took several more photographs of the three of them, sticking out their tongues and making silly poses. By the time she put her phone away, the ducks had gathered and were fighting for food. One of the larger mallards was pecking at the others, chasing them away from the food. "That one's bullying the smaller ones," she sighed. She tried to throw the food toward the other ducks, but the meany kept on pecking at them and flapping his wings to scare them off.

I mutter to myself. " Quack . " I make a sound as I ensue a fight between the 2 ducklings . " Alexis ? " It was Kayla . " Hmm ? " I called out blankly . " You've been there for 3 hours .
