Clark gave a nod and started the car engine. They got to the place. It was a bungalow. A well furnished bungalow where members of the confraternity residing in LA usually meet up, away from the burning eyes of others. It was hidden just like Skylar's house, just that it was located in the city, while Skylar's was located on the outskirts of the city. They both got inside and we're faced with the two men that seemed to be in a heated argument and Skylar's presence brought calm in the midst of the argument.

I chuckled, “Okay fine I promise.” We connected our pink fingers together for a few seconds and pulled away. But we all knew promises were meant to be broken.

“Aren’t you supposed to be studying right now/” “I know. I know.” Imran’s voice softened, almost pleading. “But we left things in such a bad way last time I saw you. You’ve been distant since then, and I couldn’t take it anymore. I thought if you saw me—you really saw me—you’d know how serious I am about fixing things between us. Laurel's cell phone rang while she was arranging their clothes in the closet in a beautiful room on the second floor of this house. This room has a balcony with a bridge overlooking the beach. If we stand at the end of the balcony, we will be able to see a vast view without borders of the sky and the blue sea combined separated by a stunning horizon line. While below, the waves look beautiful rolling, as if calling to invite swimming.

I shuddered. He pulled away, but remained in the same position. I saw him staring at my lips and then he bit his own lip. His face inched closer to me again as he leaned in. His face was inches away from me now. His cool breath made me shiver. But he didn't stop. He further leaned in to close the distance between our lips, now just a few centimetres away. Part of me wanted to feel his lips against mine. Our lips were barely a few millimetres apart. And that little distance could have soon disappeared if my mom hadn't decided to open the door at that very moment.

Hardin breaks the silence. Turning to face him, I replied "yeah. We do this once every month. Sometimes we skip a month, usually the exam period. But I'm not always allowed to come though. Most of those times, Ashley's over at my place and we just watch stupid old movies together. Our life's pretty the boring one" "I think it's fun" "You think?" "Mhm" he nods with a liplined smile.
