The Summer I Turned Pretty 2 Novels & Stories

I know she’s been photographed topless with just her hair artfully covering her breasts in the past; I’ve got the image saved to my phone along with dozens of others. Hoarding pictures of Aubrey Campbell is my dirty little secret. From the moment I first saw her, I wanted to claim her. Make her mine. Knowing she’s been practically naked in front of others is a totally different thing to actually seeing her bare herself. The possessive beast inside me won’t allow it. “No more. From now on no one sees your pretty little tits and juicy ass.” “Wha—I don’t…” I close the distance between us, causing her to look up so she can meet my eyes. “No one sees what’s mine.” “Y-yours?” “Mine.”

Andrea was staring at the ceiling thinking when she grabs her phone and play music. He sneered, his laugh filled with scorn, "Joseph's lost his power in the family. He'd never marry you, especially if you're carrying my child. Cut out the silly jokes, Wendy!" He leaned in close, his eyes scanning me in my sleek, fancy dress. "I'll admit, your new trick has caught my interest. Fine, let's find time to relive that night we had a bit too much fun." He reached to pull me close, but then Sheila screamed from behind us. Elliot spun around to see Sheila clutching her face, which was covered in red blotches. "Elliot! I'm so itchy. There are hyacinths everywhere, and I'm allergic to them!" Tears filled her eyes as she fell into Elliot's arms.

I spit out not giving any room for her to think over my words. Summer stands from the chair and her petite height makes her head to be on my chest. She is ridiculously short. What she does next takes the breath away from my lungs. Summer climbs on my legs and using her hands to grab my shoulder, she stands on her tiptoes. This makes her come to my face and she is so close that I smell her jasmine fragrance. So natural. "The only line I would be crossing in the next ninety days is a personal one," she blurts out.

“Thanks for liking it. And about the snacks, there are a few you can eat, don’t worry.” That actually made me laugh, a real laugh. For a second I felt… normal. Like someone my age. Like a girl hanging out with another girl. Not a broken person trying to survive her own guilt. We got into the tent together, the fabric brushing softly behind us as we settled in. Adeline grabbed the iPad, her fingers tapping lightly across the screen. “What are we watching?” I asked. “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” she said casually, still focused on choosing the episode.

She looked nothing like the fragile girl she had pretended to be in the hallway before. Adrian swept his gaze around and let out a derisive laugh. "What can possibly come out of a dump like this? The weeds are taller than people, the equipment's rusted, and there isn't a single worker in sight." He turned to me, mockery filling his eyes. "Ayla, are you here for the experience? Or just playing house?" Jenna walked over as well, her voice soft and sugary. "Ayla, do you need help? I can teach you how to run a project."

It is a year after I gave birth to our son, Austin. I thought I make a right turn but it turns out I made a wrong turn. ________________________________________________________________________________

“Are you interested in some props for the Last Day of Summer Fest? We offer free juice and photos on the side.” “When is the day?" “Pardon?” Valentina looked over at her like she was staring at a grade two child. “When is the fest?” Colleen had no idea so she looked to Tobias for help and thankfully, he answered. “21st of this month. A few superstars like Johnny Crane, and Naomi Statham will be in attendance. I would recommend you get a summer hat for the occasion but unfortunately, we’re sold out. So, how about a tee shirt?”
