The Tiger: An Old Hunter's Tale Novels & Stories

My chest beat erratically but the air only hung above me, untouched. Suddenly, two large predatorial eyes jumped through the snow towards me. Mane was sleek silver, snow dusting its shimmering tendrils. My arrow angled towards the mongrel. Burning eyes glowed, staring back at me with a sneer. My hands trembled. Sweat broke on my forehead. I had heard of these special wolves. Bigger, faster, more ferocious than the average beast. Never had I come in direct contact, but I knew… it was more than I had bargained. Out here… alone.

Not yet running. Forward, forward, forward. My body hurt, but I ignored the pain. I continued to thread slowly, navigating my way. Until the tiger actively began to search for me. The sound shifted—low growls, sharp sniffs, claws scraping the concrete floor. It was hunting now. No longer stalking for sport. The tiger was close now. I could see the intimidating shadow stretch across the wall as it turned a corner. When it got close enough, I threw one of my shoes in the opposite direction. And the tiger roared, running after it.

In that attempt, if he misses the target Then he will make sure to kill it on the next attempt and he will make good tactics and he waits for the next time. Tiger will have a low profile and act like it has been injured but when the hunter makes even the slightest mistake he will die in the hands of that tiger. Like that, if the killer comes to know I am alive he will come to kill me, and he will lay the traps to bring me to him. So I must get ready for everything. Whether these black demons are his plan or someone plotting from behind to catch someone else I don't know, we need to find it soon otherwise we can save anyone.

“Just tell me everything, so then I can decide if I want to get wrapped up in it.” That sounds like a fair compromise to me. At least then he can know what he’s getting into. So, I tell him everything. Or at least a shortened version of it. As he listens, he gives me his full attention. As I tell him everything, I feel less alone, less frightened. “That’s awful,” he says, once I’ve finished. “I’m so sorry you had to go through that. We’ve had to deal with rouges hunting our pack down too, but nothing like that.

“That makes no sense.” “It didn’t to us either,” he replied. “Not at first.” He leaned back, eyes drifting toward the treetops as if the branches themselves held the memory. “The Tiger King… he isn’t who he pretends to be. Not to you outsiders, not even to half of his own kingdom. To them, he’s a hero. A protector. A ruler chosen by fate.” His lips curled, not in amusement, but in bitterness. “We know who he really is.”

I always put this in my bag wherever I would go. “Let’s see how I will deal with y'all!” I muttered in the air and walked towards them. Before they could kill the baby white-and-black tiger, I splashed them with the magic powder and carried the baby tiger and ran immediately away from those hunters. I also tried to find a place to hide. “Ahhh! I can’t see!”

Elder Brother went off to find a stronger rope to tie the tiger, while I carefully placed the sleeping cub in my bag and joined him. As we made our way down the mountain, it was exhausting to drag the tiger along. When we reached the foot of the mountain, we encountered a middle-aged man. “ Is that a tiger? Come here quickly!” he exclaimed, rushing towards us, seemingly trying to protect us from the tiger. Unaware that it was already dead, he shielded us. “ Ahem, Uncle, pfft... the tiger is already dead,” Elder Brother informed him, causing the man to be shocked before bursting into laughter.

His satisfied smile washed over me. The dagger fell haphazardly into the elevator while its owner rushed toward me. Tiger leaned forward and kissed me passionately. Blood streaked my cheeks, and a fishy smell assaulted my senses. The kiss seemed brief. Unconsciously, I glanced down at the last page of the book. Tiger always ends his killing ritual with a kiss and a playful question. "Did I do well?" And the game will continue if he is not satisfied.

He again tried calling out to her, alas, she was gone. As Travis saw to her leaving, he collapsed to the floor the moment he saw from his perspective that she could no longer see him. "Huh! Huh! Huh!" He panted severely. He then opened the sash by his side and brought out a cannister, of the exact male that contained what Higgins earlier injected to weaken his wolf. "Blood bane! I'm running out of it." He said. "I need that Talisman." He added. Blood bane had the exact effect of wolf bane but this was to Vampires.

She nods and ducks back in only to come out seconds later. "What is it?" She asks as she swipes a piece of hair behind her ear. "This is from Hunter." I reveal the book and look down at it. "His grandmother was a tigress, like you. This is everything she learned and he wants you to have it." I hold the large, leather bound book in between us. She takes it into her hands and flips open to a random page.
