He closed the folder slowly, almost reverently, as if sealing a fate.
“Oh, I won’t need to take it back,” he replied. “Knight will. He’ll scramble to rewrite it, to bury it, to control it — and in doing so, he’ll destroy himself. That’s the beauty of it. The truth doesn’t need to be real… just believable.”
The woman tilted her head. “And what if it is real?”
Sebastian’s smirk deepened. “Then it’s just more poetic.”
