He dropped his weapons, clawing at his burning chest. Saoirse kicked him. He fell backward, tumbling out of the open elevator door and falling into the dark shaft below. His scream faded into the distance. Tristan dispatched the second assassin with a precise thrust to the heart. Silence returned to the cage, save for their heavy breathing. Tristan turned to her. He looked at her hand. It was smoking slightly. "You cooked him," Tristan breathed. "He was in my way," Saoirse said, her voice shaking. Tristan looked at the open hatch.

He wasn't going to kill her… at least not yet, not until he's gotten reasonable answers from her. “I-I don't know, but it was instinct.” She stammered before gaining her voice back. “Instinct? What kind of maid instinctively knows how to handle a glock?” he asked suspiciously. His eyes raked her body from top to bottom. Alina was undeniably beautiful.
