Novel & Cerita The Ugly Duckling Book Pdf

People always have different opinions and wonder how a fat, ugly girl like me would be dating such a handsome heir of a wealthy family and a billionaire CEO. I even felt lucky, and other girls began to be jealous of me, especially my bullies and the ones in high school. I sat comfortably in the cozy, dark, shiny car as the driver concentrated on his job, looking sternly at the smooth, long, city-vibe road. Olivia took a glance at me as the orange light in the car shone upon my face. I noticed the glance and asked, “Why are you looking?” I asked in an unfamiliar accent as we drove through the dark city.

I declined into the chair, my eyes scanning the room. Ella did the last button of Ivy's pajamas and smiled at me. I flashed a signal to Ella to help me out and she laughed, her fingers pointing to a nearby shelf in the room where all of Ivy's bedtime stories were arranged. I walked over to the shelf and picked a book barely glancing over to see it's contents. I sat back into my chair and was about reading when I skimmed it through the first chapter. The story was about a frog who dared to dream, going on an whimsical adventures. “I'm going to be telling you the story of the frog who dared to dream that he could change the frogville.”

He unclasped the box, revealing some old books inside. The top novel caught his attention, its dog-eared pages and worn texture hinting at its age. The front cover was missing, but as he flipped through the pages, he found what could possibly be the title written in pen at the back: "Inner beauty and Otter's flaws." This title seemed poignant, considering Arc's past. His mom had abandoned him when he was a child, leaving unanswered questions and unresolved emotions. Arc walked in, and Chelsea looked up and saw his somber expression which was a stark contrast to his nervous energy. "What are you doing?" The question was laced with curiosity and accusation.

I was just focused on the book I was reading, pretending not to hear them. “Hey ugly,” one of them called out. “Hope you are not planning to show up tonight.” I pushed back my glasses that were falling off my nose and continued reading. One of them walked to my desk, grabbed my book and dropped it to the floor. “You don't ignore beauty like us.” She said, titling her head smugly. She continued “have you gotten a prom date? Oops, I forgot. Nobody will want an ugly duckling like you to be their date.”

Kevin replied, "No way! You're the prettiest woman in Dainsclef Village." He tried to lift the blanket to look at me, yet I gripped it tightly. "Please—don't look at me!" Kevin had no choice but to wrap me and the blanket together in his arms. Even when I was living with the poor Larsons, I was well taken care of, with smooth, soft skin. But how could this emaciated woman with hollow eyes staring back at me now possibly be me? "Who said you're ugly? My lovely Cindy is the prettiest woman in the world!"

“.....he turned to look at her and in that instant—” Danice read slowly from the book. Headmaster Roan, sitting beside her, read the words softly as his eyes followed the text. “…Eurydice faded back into the shadows forever.” Danice closed the book and smiled. “Good job, Grandpa. One storybook down for today.”

It felt like he was erasing me entirely. Later that night, after dinner and bath time, I tucked Arielle into bed. "Can you read me a story, Mama?" she asked. Beside her on the pillow was the stuffed swan Ethan had given her. I picked up the book from her nightstand—a worn copy of "The Ugly Duckling," of course. "Once upon a time," I began, "there was a little duckling who was different from all the others..." I read until her eyelids grew heavy, her breathing deep and regular. I was about to close the book when she stirred.

Honestly, she was scarier than Maleficent. “Why would I video call a disgusting face like yours? Gross! Fine, if Fredric’s not there, I’ll call him later. By the way, I called specifically to insult you. I’m bored and frustrated, and your ugly face isn’t worthy of being my rival, Mathilda. Just because Fredric and I are fighting doesn’t mean he’s yours! No! It will never happen! Wake up from your fantasy, bitch!” Paula hung up abruptly. The morning that had started so beautifully now felt like a storm. And just like that, the spirit I’d built up vanished.

“For you.” I could hardly believe it. Flipping through the composition book, I could make out pages upon pages filled with neat handwriting, what looked like ten chapters worth of reading, and even… a couple of smutty scenes. My cheeks warmed as I flipped to a random page and read something about the dragon turning into a man, and…

“My bitch Leia had four pups the other week. Their eyes just opened. They’re almost as cute as you.” He held his hand out to me, and I didn’t want to take it. Not that big, heavy thing hanging off the end of his wrist with its hooked fingers, its swollen knuckles all sprouting hair. Don’t hate him cause he’s ugly. Clem told me a story once, about a baby duck that was really a swan. ‘But what if he grew up uglier?’ I had asked her at the end. ‘What if he never got beautiful?’ ‘We shouldn’t be unkind to people because of how they look,’ she had said. ‘That’s what the story means.’
