Panic began to rise within her, but her attempts to move or speak were futile.
As consciousness slipped away, Mara's last coherent thought was a mix of fear and confusion. What had they done? What was the purpose of all this? The answers remained just out of reach as darkness engulfed her, and she succumbed to the effects of whatever had been administered to her.
The car eventually came to a stop, and the spy gently lifted Mara's unconscious form, cradling her carefully in her arms. The small house in the middle of the secluded forest loomed ahead, hidden away from prying eyes. The door creaked open, and the group entered, the atmosphere tense with a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty.
