Chapter 102: The Sea Battle The smugglers’ channel was a nightmare in motion. The Ithaca bucked like a wounded animal as it scraped rocks for the second time, the violent shudder tearing through the hull and straight into Ethan’s ribs. His breath hitched, sharp and painful, but he gripped the console and stayed upright. The shallow water churned beneath them, the choppy waves slamming against the hull as if trying to flip the yacht itself. Luca fought the helm with everything he had, every muscle in his arms coiled tight, sweat running down the side of his face despite the cool Mediterranean air.

Horatio stood proudly at the prow, letting the wind and waves on the sea whip around him. Although there were huge waves on the surface of the sea, they couldn't get near Horatio at all. It was as if there was a wall of air separating him completely from the outside world. Behind him, Ajax was already drenched by the seawater that poured down from above. Meanwhile, Lars formed a sign with one hand and kept the falling seawater three feet above his head. Behind the speedboat, over 100 warships fanned out as they advanced upon the island.

But then he stilled, his eyes fixed on something behind me. I turned my head, slowly, as a cold shadow fell over me, followed by a spray of salty water. The Persephone seemed to abruptly sink, and my stomach flipped as though I were falling. I looked up, seeing the crest of the monstrous wave, three times the height of the Persephone's tallest mast, just as the peak of it crashed into the sails, snapping the masts as though they were toothpicks. I looked at Troy as the masts fell, slicing through the deck and sending a spray of debris into the sky as the wave came down as though in slow motion. His eyes were shining with tears, his mouth twitching into a soft, somber smile.

I kicked into action and shoved his chest but it was like pushing a concrete, it wasn’t going anywhere. “Stop, Leo.” His lips connected with my neck and his erection pressed against my belly. He growled and it hit me. He was acting this way because he couldn’t tame his wolf. Leo and his wolf weren’t in agreement when he rejected me. Too bad because I have someone else! “If you won’t be my mate then you’ll be my mistress.” “Never.” I curled before I pushed out my limbs and sent Leo into the mahogany table. My heart nearly stopped.

The storm that night was terrifying for everyone out at sea, including Theodor and his dad, Carl. "Pull up the nets! Don't let the waves cut them loose and take the fish we've caught tonight! Secure the anchor and use all your strength!" Carl yelled amid the rain and flashes of lightning, accompanied by the roar of waves that seemed like they would crush their boat in one sweep.

He looked unfairly beautiful standing there against crashing waves and stormlight like some deeply expensive maritime hallucination.
