I rubbed the side of my water glass with my thumb. “A secret that big. I kept it for years like I was carrying a glass box in my chest. One wrong step, it breaks. One wrong word, it breaks. The wrong person finds out, it breaks.”
Out on the deck, Poppy laughed.
