“Uh, no. You go ahead.”
“Thanks.” Tres stuffed the strips of bacon into his mouth.
“God, you’re a pig!” Eliza exclaimed with disgust.
“Whatever.” Tres leaned back in his chair and patted his stomach in satisfaction. “You know, momma’s growin’ boy and all.”
“Sure, Tres. There’s only one problem with that: you haven’t grown an inch in three years.”
“Here’s to hoping against hope,” he said, raising his smoothie in salute and chugging down the remains.
