I crouched down to see it. She was holding a piece of a hundred-eyed cowrie shell, and I have one in my collections, but this type of shell is one the rarest seashells in the world. Bree pursed her lips, trying to compare the two again before placing them in her pocket.
“What are you doing here alone again, Bree?” I asked, looking for the woman she was with a while ago. “Did you run away again?”
She nodded, but her eyes were focused on the next shell Sean gave her. She twitched her lips, shaking her head as she placed the shell in her pocket.
