*Poppy* I stood at the edge of the clearing, feeling the wind tug at my hair as I watched the sun dip below the horizon. The vibrant hues of red and orange painted the sky, but the beauty of the scene did little to soothe the turmoil in my heart. Beside me, Tanner, Rose, and Albert gathered; their murmurs were a blur of background noise as I wrestled with my thoughts. I glanced at Logan, standing with Allegra, their voices mingling with the faint rustle of leaves. It pained me to see them together, their laughter lighting up the evening air while I felt heavy with secrets.

Both women were smart, but Tara had been more Bohemian and artistic. Poppy was urban and sophisticated.

Natalia didn’t hesitate to try and rip out Poppy’s throat too, but Poppy was slippery enough and the sand was still just enough to keep her from killing Poppy. The sharp pain in Poppy’s shoulder was an indicator that Natalia’s teeth had found their mark. Using her hind legs, Poppy clawed at Natalia’s wolf, ripping into the larger female’s side.
