Different clans and tribes had inscribed wild beasts as their totems and prayed to them in exchange for blessings and protection from the gods. That was the origin of the barbaric totem. Although there was no wild beast in Northsea anymore, the practice of absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth through the totems to nourish the body had been passed down from generation to generation.
