Two glowing orbs of light, seemingly filled with galaxies and ancient knowledge, pierced through the mist where its eyes should be. "I am the Guardian," the voice boomed. "And you have unleashed a force that threatens to unravel the very fabric of existence." Liam and Xal'dar exchanged a shocked glance. This unexpected arrival, this enigmatic Guardian, could it be their salvation? Or was this merely another piece in a game they didn't understand?

It collapsed, circuits smoking. “Good thinking,” Damien called, covering him as Elias and Kai moved to flank. But Seraph raised a hand. Her gold eyes flared.

A line of armored vehicles emerged from the eastern gate. Five. Ten. Fifteen. More than enough. The Guardians weren't retreating. They were reinforcing. The lead vehicle stopped. Its doors opened. And a familiar figure stepped out. Tall. Black armor. Silver mask. The symbol of Ascension painted across his chest. The atmosphere changed instantly. Every Guardian straightened. Every child froze. Even the wind seemed to stop. The newcomer slowly removed his helmet. Revealing a young face. Maybe twenty. Cold eyes. Empty eyes.

The Sapphire Guardian had awoken. Aric and Kaida backed away, their swords drawn. The Guardian was a massive creature, standing over ten feet tall. Its body was made of living stone, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. It let out a roar that shook the ruins to their foundations, and charged at them with lightning speed. Aric and Kaida leaped aside, narrowly avoiding the Guardian's massive fists. They circled around it, their swords flashing in the dim light. The Guardian was a formidable foe, but they were determined to defeat it and claim the Sapphire Crown.
