The smell of mold permeated the air, making me choke and cough. I didn't know where I was being taken to. Suddenly, I saw a light in front of me, coming through a half-closed door. Immediately, I shook off the man's hand and ran toward the light. Shocked, he tried to grab me, but I slapped him hard. Caught unaware, the man paused. He was dazed. His spectacles fell onto the ground with a clink and were promptly stepped on and destroyed. The light was getting closer. Hope welled up in my heart.

Lucas was taken aback by the question, but ended up smiling at the youngest one's dilemma.

“Debbie? I don’t—oh! The gold digger who was after Uncle Fester’s money. Okay, okay. I take it that Daisy is Wednesday, Casey is Pugsley, and Grant is Lurch.” “You got it,” I confirmed, placing my hand on Kierra’s lower back. I ushered her into the house while Simone went over the festivities for the night. “You guys are gonna take the kids trick-or-treating for an hour while me and Morticia finish dinner. We will eat our spooky meal and then play some games before ending the night with a kid-friendly scary movie.” “What movie did you have in mind?” Kierra asked. “Hotel Transylvania,” Simone confirmed. “That’s a safe one.”

But they trust you back. And that bond is something I still can’t explain, yet here I am, drinking wine from the bottle while talking to Sundance. People on the east coast would pay good money for this kind of therapy. “Telling Mom I was engaged was stupid. I can’t hire an escort, and I’m pretty sure they’re going think I want sex, and I don’t. Not even from Stephan and his perfect abs that I’m pretty sure were photoshopped into that photo.” I take another drink of wine. “And the one guy that might have agreed to play the part doesn’t want anything to do with me right now.”

But Alex caught her hand and made her touch it. "Alex!" "Love him a little, baby." "Not now! Your food will be cold!….and you can clean yourself now." She tried to avoid it but it turned out that what came out of her mouth came back to herself. "Not now? Okay, let's eat first then." Aria's widened as she heard it. "You wish!" She flew out of there. ............... Both of them ended up eating supper while watching some movies on the bed. Aria fed Alex gently and that mafia boss was having his time enjoying the care from his wife.

Maybe Jake is right, that teacher is just friendly, and it rubbed off as a little creepy. "Beat him up." The big Jay said casually as he put down a bowl of popcorn in front of her. If he wasn't holding food, she would've slapped him. His veiny forearm, which is not protected by his black hoodie, is looking very tempting. "Tell me you're joking." She responded and threw a popcorn into her mouth. The other Jay only pressed his lips into a hard line as he sat down next to her on the bed. The matress dropped under his weight, and Jay looked up at him. He's joking right? Sure, everyone says he beats up teachers, but that can't be true right?

My limbs convulsed, my vision went black, and I clawed for help. Alex just sneered. “See, officers? She’s putting on another act. Now you can witness it yourselves.”

Jace slid in, breathing a little harder than usual, already tugging off the cleaner’s jacket like it offended him. “Damn disguise,” he muttered, tossing it to the back. “Smells like chemicals and poop. Never tell anyone about this okay!! If you ever, I will end our friendship.” I didn’t respond. He glanced at me while pulling the car into motion. “You should have seen it,” he went on, a grin tugging at his lips. “Adrian didn’t even realize what was happening at first. I kept him busy just like you said. If you had seen his face when I poured him the cleaning water. He looked like he would puke his stomach. I dipped the mop into the toilet. Then carried the smelly water to the elevator. I ac

he hands me the plate of lettuce I just asked for. "I'll do my best," and that's all I can promise because I haven't had them for so long. "I'll keep giving them to you, until you're used to it." Somehow I don't think I'll ever be used to it. ****** We're camped out in the living room watching the Charlie Brown Halloween movie, all full, and worn out from dinner and carving pumpkins. Those pumpkins now sit proudly on Trick's stairs, and I've had to promise Riley we'll come back and look at them every couple of days until Halloween. We didn't make it outside to do S'mores, we're all wiped.

Zoe and Ruby handed out full-size bars like they were trying to buy votes. I was in charge of the front door, dressed as a very exhausted version of Jessica Rabbit, red dress, purple gloves. First wave of kids: normal, polite, adorable. Second wave: louder, slightly feral, still cute. Then came the third wave… or rather, the same kid three times. First knock: tiny figure in a white sheet with two eye holes. “Trick or treat!” I squinted. “Buddy, are you… a ghost?” The sheet nodded solemnly.
