Panic flares hot through my chest, and a hysterical breakdown threatens to overwhelm me. If I weren’t scared out of my mind, I’d actually appreciate how attractive Xander is. He has longish, dark brown hair, and strands fall over his forehead, making him look like one of the bad boys Papa Rocky Ace always warned me about. His eyes are brown with golden flecks giving me the impression he’s a jokester. He’s not dressed in a suit like Olga’s other guards but is wearing black cargo pants, a black t-shirt, and boots. There are tattoos on the back of his hands running all the way up his forearms, where I can see his veins snaking beneath his skin.

Exchanging a look with Ryan, he nudged him before they both drifted closer. “Hey, bro, you seem off. What’s the matter?” Ryan asked. “I… met a girl today,” Trunks admitted shyly. Both Ryan and Alejandro immediately perked up, their curiosity ignited. “Oh really?” Alejandro grinned. “How was she?” “Did you talk to her?” Ryan added eagerly. “What’s her class?” Alejandro asked, smirking. Trunks adjusted his glasses, his cheeks turning faintly pink. “We’re in the same course,” he said softly. “We met earlier this morning — she helped me when I fell. Later, we ran into each other again at the library and she kind of… kissed me.”

If he did, then I was going to be in deep trouble. “Do you think he can handle the animal?” I asked, when I was safely on the large rock. ‘He’s trained for war. You should be worried about us, not him. He looks so mad that I think we should run.’ “Xander won't hurt me.” I said, watching the fight, with my face knitted in anxiety. I watched the panther leap at Xander with its jaws and claws outstretched. Xander held the panther’s neck with both hands, staggering backwards, as the panther lodged deep marks into his chest.

“Hephaestus has shown me where the harness and weaponry are. I will collect them. You shift to wolf form.” “Alright Elexis, I’m going to open the portal at the treeline over there.” Pan removes his glamor and shows his true form. He motions toward the trees with his pan flute. “It’s not like a portal you’re used to. It bypasses the Beyond. Direct connection to Mount Olympus. The environment inside can be… thick… so you’ll need to push extra hard to make it through.” Lex shakes out her fur to make sure the harness is properly secured. She turns her back to Pan and sits down. He attaches the broadsword and a small shield to the harness and pats Lex on the back.

Tristan went to pick out some underwear, holding up various styles, occasionally asking Trevor’s opinion, and Trevor would nod, or shake his head, or offer a comment with a familiar ease that made my guts twist. Then, Trevor suddenly grabbed a stacked box of condoms from a nearby display and, with a knowing smirk, dropped it into the basket Tristan was holding. I saw how Tristan glared at Trevor, but Trevor just winked, and Tristan, exasperated, rolled his eyes before shaking his head, a small smile playing on his lips.
