Rejected to be His Luna
Amor was sitting on the edge of the bed, his scorching hand soldering my shaking hand.
He signalled Morfan through his eyebrows.
Morfan bowed, placed the contract on the table, and left the room.
“It’s ok, Zeve. Take your time.”
“I am sorry…” my voice quavered. “After everything I went through, I can’t bring myself to trust anyone. Even though I know you saved me, I still can’t… trust…”
His other hand wrapped around my hand, too.
“It’s a good thing. You shouldn’t trust anyone except yourself to survive. Once you are in Arginieth, you will understand that not trusting others is a blessing. There is no need to trust me because I am not a monk either.” He smirked teasingly.
