IT'S A JOB, NOT A RELATIONSHIP, MR. BILLIONAIRE

IT'S A JOB, NOT A RELATIONSHIP, MR. BILLIONAIRE

But underneath that happiness, something restless stirred—like the earth beneath us still had secrets to whisper. I was sitting on the sun-drenched balcony of our new apartment overlooking the park, laptop open, dress sketches sprawled across the table, when I received the email. Subject: Truth Isn’t Always Buried. The body of the message was simple: "What you don't know can still hurt you. Ask Nathan about Boston. Ask him what he left behind." No sender. No attachments. Just that chilling prompt that reached into my spine and yanked the breath out of my lungs. Boston.

The Alpha’s Forbidden Obsession

The Alpha’s Forbidden Obsession

"That's convenient." "That's truth. I've tried. Dozens of times. Written it down only to have the paper burn. Spoken it only to have sound disappear. They've made it impossible to expose them directly. I can only warn. Only give pieces. Only hope you're smart enough to assemble the puzzle." I studied his face. Looking for lies. For manipulation. For any sign this was performance. I saw only desperation. Sincerity. Truth mixed with trauma. "Tell me what you can," I said. "Everything you know. Everything you've heard. Every piece that might help."

A Billionaire's Minx

A Billionaire's Minx

Grace giggles, as she grabs her phone which is still connected to the limo speakers and resumes the music playing. I laugh, feeling lighter now that I've told them the truth, the half truth, but it's still the truth. The whole truth can't be unheard once heard, it's an ugly truth one that's prone to give them nightmares which is why I will never tell it, for the good of all. Emelia knows it, and with her being the only one that does, I can pretend it never existed, I don't need therapy, any therapist would need a therapist for themselves if the weight I shoulder were to unload on them.

The Heart Never Forgets

The Heart Never Forgets

Terrifying. The rain poured harder, a curtain between us, blurring the streetlights and the colors of the city around us. “I never wanted this for you,” he whispered. “Any of it.” “Then why didn’t you tell me the truth sooner?” My voice trembled. “Why didn’t you tell me what you knew, about my mother, about Pierce, about the fire?” “Because I knew what it would cost you.” His voice cracked. “I knew what the truth would destroy.”

The Wife He Threw Away

The Wife He Threw Away

“That’s…” He shook his head slowly. “I wish I’d seen that.” I laughed softly. “It wasn’t nearly as dramatic as you’re imagining.” “I doubt that.” I continued anyway. “I walked them through everything.” “The fake infertility report.” “The domestic violence allegation.” “The financial fraud.” “The manipulation.” “The conspiracy.” I swallowed. “And then I ended by telling them…” I looked directly at him. “‘The truth does not become a lie simply because someone famous tells it.’” The room became very quiet.

Katie Tutor
Author I'm really enjoying your story. I apologize for my bluntness with the reader who uses letters instead of actual words but I'm 'old school' where you say it up front and don't beat around the bush. I believe not using words but a bunch of nonsensical letters is rude and insulting !

His contract Bride, His secret child

His contract Bride, His secret child

"When is it?" "This afternoon," I said. "Three PM." She looked up. "Are you ready?" I thought about what ready meant. I thought about thirty seven years of building an empire on the wrong foundation and two weeks of following a trail all the way to the end and one night in a pediatric bay holding an ammonite because a five year old had asked me to. "Yes," I said. She held my gaze for a moment. "What are you going to tell them?" she said. "The truth," I said. "Everything. In the order it happened. Without the management strategies and the narrative architecture." I paused. "The way you told me things in the coffee shop."

Solid Gold (Unseen Enemy 8)

Solid Gold (Unseen Enemy 8)

You told one lie and then you couldn't stop telling more of them. But – oddly and incredibly – what Claire discovered was that telling the truth was exactly like that. Once you told one real, shining true thing, then you wanted to tell another one. Then another. Then you were tempted to just lay it all out, just go for total, hell-for-leather honesty. This was especially the case if you hadn't told the truth in a long time, the way that she hadn't. Truth was liberating, she thought as she lay next to Jack's naked body, and it was empowering, and after she'd told Jack one true thing, then she'd had a damn hard time stopping herself from telling him every single true thing that she knew.

Pregnant By The Billionaire

Pregnant By The Billionaire

he said slowly, “we’ve been through this.” “No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “We haven’t. You gave me fragments. A story that doesn’t… it doesn’t add up.” My voice trembled, but I forced myself to hold his gaze. “I need to know the truth. Not the polished version. Not the convenient one. The truth.” His hand curled into a fist on his thigh. He looked away, toward the window, like he couldn’t stand the weight of my stare. “The truth is dangerous.”

VOWS IN THE WAR ROOM

VOWS IN THE WAR ROOM

The morning split three ways at once. That was the trouble with truth once it finally came out of hiding. It never walked into one room politely and waited to be understood. It moved through bodies, phones, roads, old grudges, bank records, chapel locks, and frightened men who had spent years being useful to the wrong person.
