My eyes slowly moved to spot the velvet-covered book and something written on it with golden ink that shined in the light coming through the open window. Despite thinking to ignore it at first, I found myself walking towards it a few moments later. Something about leaving this book without looking through it did not feel right to me, it just made me feel some sort of anxiousness I was not ready to deal with. To my surprise, it opens. "What the ...?" I whisper. Alec steps in front of me, pushing the door open all the way. He takes a step inside, and I follow. The inside of the warehouse is creepy too. The floors are covered in dust and cobwebs, and all the furniture is overturned and broken. But despite the mess, it's obvious that somebody is living here. There are candles burning in the corners, and there's a mattress in the back corner. I can see clothes draped over an old chair, and a pile of books stacked against the wall.

As if a magnet were pulling his hand, he reached for it. The book opened by itself to a certain page. The illustration there made his blood freeze. It was a drawing of a handsome man with eyes shining like a predator, standing over a pile of corpses, with a dark, horned shadow shape stretching out behind him. Below the image was one word in ancient script that he somehow knew how to read: MORAT.
