To take advantage of the isolation she just received, Sarah pulled out a single cigarette she hid from her brassiere, lit it up, and puffed a mouthful of smoke. An extraordinary refreshment filled her veins, the same addictive feeling she could never get tired of spoiling. As she sucked in for more, she let her feet drag her weight towards the bed.

Warm lighting glistened on the main house, a gorgeous modern villa. Alex noticed my awe. "Do you like the compound?" he asked, a hint of pride in his voice.I managed a weak smile, still reeling from the day's events. I was in complete awe of the lavish interior. The opulent atmosphere was enhanced by the marble floors, tall ceilings, and tasteful furniture. I sunk into a luxurious sofa as Alex motioned for me to sit. He went into the kitchen and came out a little later carrying a glass of cold water.

My phone buzzed on the vanity, breaking the spiral of thoughts. Outside. I grabbed my purse and slipped into my heels, my heart giving a little nervous kick as I stepped out into the cool evening air. Alf was leaning casually against his car, the city lights catching in his sandy-blond hair. He wore a black button-down shirt, the first few buttons undone, and dark charcoal trousers that fit just right. When his eyes landed on me, his smile deepened, slow and warm, and something in my chest eased. “You look breathtaking,” he said, reaching for my hand. He lifted it to his lips and pressed a kiss to my knuckles, his touch gentle yet enough to make my breath hitch.

Luckily, my words didn’t sound too slurred. He smiled and turned to the bartender… who amazingly enough came right over. Everyone who had been waiting for a drink looked over, jealous. The girls kept looking at the guy holding my hand. There was something about him that made him impossible not to look at. If I hadn’t grown up around werewolves I would probably be staring at him too. Werewolves have this amazing ability to attract all the attention around them when they wanted it, and the older, more experienced ones could blend in like they were invisible if they needed to too.

Shannon POV I could feel my anger rising, my heart beating hard, my feet trembling, my head flaming and I gnashed my teeth. I could feel my anger rising so badly that I had to clutch my hands to control my rising anger. "I am the one that is worth this position, not her and I can't allow her to have it." I growled in my head. My twin sister, Sharon, was about to be crowned the ambassador of the Blue Moon pack. I had always craved this position but she just came from nowhere and snatched it away from me just like that.
