He just held me, his chin resting on the top of my head.
"We need to check the cellar," Jax said. "If that barrel is still leaking—"
"It’s not," I said, my eyes half-closed. "The tree took it. The tree is holding it now."
Dominic looked at the woods. The silver tree was miles away, but we could see the faint, ethereal glow of its canopy over the ridge. It looked peaceful. It looked like a guardian.
"Go to sleep, Raven," Dominic whispered.
"The war is done for tonight."
