Mystic Grove Academy: The Alpha’s Mark

Mystic Grove Academy: The Alpha’s Mark

“Gonna go for a walk.” She grabs my wrist before I can move. “Be careful, okay? The woods aren’t safe right now …..even the teachers are saying we shouldn’t go out alone.” “I’ll be fine,” I lie, patting her hand. “Just need some fresh air.” The sun’s already starting to set by the time I reach the old oak tree …..it’s huge, with branches that twist up so high you can barely see the top, and roots that curl out of the ground like giant knuckles. Ryder’s already there, leaning against the trunk with his hands in his pockets, staring out at the Woods Beyond like he’s waiting for something to appear.

Twenty Seven Days

Twenty Seven Days

"The humidity in here blows out the heat sensors on standard-issue gear. They’re as blind as we are." A sudden, sharp snap echoed from the left aisle—the unmistakable sound of a heavy boot fracturing a terracotta orchid pot. Scarlett dropped instantly to one knee, her back pressing against the rough, moss-covered stone of a raised planting bed. Xavier vanished from her peripheral vision, melting into the grey wall of fog with the silence of a vapor.

Mathilda

Mathilda

He offered his wide hand, “Let me help you.” “I can help myself.” I stood, and shook off the dirt off my skirt. He just shrugged, “Okay.” He continued and went under the oak. It was only a bit higher than Gabriel, but taller for me that I was able to raise my head high and see its perfect oddity. Its shrunken trunk and all that was connected to it had perfect shade of homey brown and its foliage was thick, but there were spaces that allowed rays of sunshine to pass through it.

Let's talk about the synopsis! LOVE IT! It is so spooky and mysterious like when you're like; "I swear I didn't steal your WiFi password! Or did I? *with a menacing smile*" I'm still going to leave another review for the chapters. I just felt like this awesome synopsis deserves a review of its own.

The narration itself brings you deep into the book. There's this something I can't point to exactly, but the way the author leads it, the more I just want to get drown into the story. Not just that, but this story contradicts the 'soft girl main protagonist' ad I LOVE IT! MATHILDA FOR THE WIN!

Omega (Book 2)

Omega (Book 2)

The Generals Building was right in their front and if they kept up with their pave for the next thirty seconds, they were going to be at the front of the building. “I texted some minutes ago. About three. She told me she's at the general's building. She'll be there, waiting for us.” “Thanks for you help, guys,” Wade said as he stopped walking suddenly. “I act foolishly and around females and I'm not too comfortable being around one. I guess I'll see you all another time.”

he said, caressing her cheeks. She nodded. She was crying again. She was angry at herself for crying so much. “It does change the end-point,” she said, her voice strained. “Venom was a special person and I spread the mushrooms he liked over his grave so they would germinate.” “That’s lovely,” Hayden whispered, drying her eyes with his thumbs. “And an acorn must have been there because an oak tree sprang up,” she said. The villagers gasped. “An Omniscient Oak Tree, a second one,” she said.

Wow this book is already pulling me in. I hope they are mates. Love all your books Joanna. In your other books we know they are mates but not in this one. Sprout sounds so cute. I love how this is a different time period and different style of story than your other books. Excited for more

Absolutely loved this journey, this story was so different and creative I loved everything about it. Just the right amount of everything without being to much, I could really see this becoming a movie.

The last Leaf on the tree

The last Leaf on the tree

"You should stop, I'm trying to help you here, okay? If he should find out this you what is going to happen" "What is he going to do to me, that is worse than what he has done?" "Stop being so negative" "Says the right person" that's sarcasm right there "Get out" it was still in a calm tone before she asked a stupid question "What did you say?" "I said Get. Out!" She admitted her defeat and went out. Just a few seconds later she heard a loud sound, which was the door that was shut closed with might. Three months later, Three months later, and nothing changed. At least not the fact that Kehna and her father dined with the William's family almost every day.

The Wolf in Cell Six: Rogue Revolution

The Wolf in Cell Six: Rogue Revolution

I’m below a tree, an oak tree. The realization sends a shot of sobering adrenaline through me, and my mind emerges from the haze—it’s not just any oak tree. It’s our oak tree! I’m laying at the tunnel entrance, but how did I get here? Who brought me here? Why am I naked? Why can’t I move?

The Slayer

The Slayer

There was always a possibility of someone attacking me or who knew how welcoming the Elves were going to be. I found the oak tree when the sun was just about to set in the horizon. The tree was taller than any of the trees in this forest. And the second bizarre thing; it was the only oak tree I had seen in this forest until now. Slumping against the tree for a good few minutes, I rested. I fetching the small pouch of leather from the satchel to drink water, only to realize that it was now empty. It had been a while since I last saw any trace of water.

A Warrior's Vengeance

A Warrior's Vengeance

In the center of the clearing stood an old, gnarled tree, its bark twisted and gnarled. Saul approached the tree, his hand resting on the rough bark. He closed his eyes and muttered a few words under his breath. Suddenly, the tree began to shake and tremble, and a low rumbling filled the air. Silas watched in awe as the tree split open, revealing a hidden chamber inside. Saul motioned for him to follow as he stepped inside. The chamber was dark and musty, with the scent of old paper and ink filling the air. The walls were lined with shelves, and Silas could see countless books and scrolls stacked haphazardly on them.
