As she leapt onto my back, I transformed into my wolf. My clothes fell in tatters around us, sending my phone flying into the shrubbery. Jess clung to my fur and ducked low, avoiding the branches as I sprinted full speed. With nothing to slow me down, not Jess’s short legs or my human form, we had a chance.
“I have the rock,” Jess said. “I’ve never killed a man, but I’m ready to dash someone’s brains out. I don’t care what we have to do. We are making that bus, Elias.”
