"Don't you do it! What if you hurt your hands? They're meant for the piano." His voice was thick with concern. I went back to my room and closed the door. My fingers undid the hidden clasps on the back of my wedding dress, and the white fabric slipped free, pooling around my feet like ocean waves. I sat at my desk and opened my laptop. The cursor blinked steadily at the end of a half-finished email—an application for the Doctors Without Borders program. I typed the final line. "I'm available to leave within two weeks." Then, I hit send.

I didn't care about the student board, the donations, or The Era Society. ​Exactly sixty minutes after entering my own dream launch, I pushed through the heavy glass exit doors and sprinted out into the dark, freezing campus night, completely unraveling.

"Get some sleep. I need to prep Rylan." As he walked out, I looked at the closed door. The fractal. The Unraveling. Creation versus Destruction. I just hoped the builder wasn't the one holding the detonator. -------------------------------------------

It would be completely unpredictable. I poured the hot coffee, the rich smell comforting me a bit. I took a long sip, letting the warmth spread through me, trying to calm the storm in my head. She blinked hard, realizing the sun had almost set. How long had she been stuck in her thoughts? "Here you are." Matthew walked up to the gravestones, frowning the teardrops running down his mate's cheeks. He glanced at the names engraved onto the stones, then back at her face. "... Are these your parents?"

The third, I squinted. “What the fuck is this?” I held it closer to the light. Still couldn't tell. Maybe I shouldn't have opened it. Too late. I stared at the boiling water. Then back at the instructions. Boil water. Put noodles inside. Wait three minutes. Add everything. Everything? I was still trying to understand why the instructions considered this food when I heard a sound behind me. “You're reading the ramen packet like it's a classified document.” My head snapped toward her.

Taylor's POV It's finally Friday and today, one of the top school teams in Canada will go against Zach's team for the Football competition. I was lucky enough to be discharged straight after Dr. Drake had checked the scans and informed my parents and me that nothing was wrong, and I could go home. Turns out Nora, my second sister, had been dating Dr. Drake. I found out that they were once friends from our hometown, and he had later moved here to pursue his dream as his doctor.

It's just Gabe. Only, it wasn't. When the door finally opened, an unfamiliar man who looked to be in his thirties or so, came down the stairs towards her. He was frowning and looked very unfriendly, which only got worse when his frown deepened to a scowl when he noticed the mattress and everything else that Gabe had brought her. “He untied your feet and uncovered your mouth.” The man comments in a gruff voice. “As well as removing your blind fold. Fucking idiot.”

“Mom, what happened to your phone, and what's all these things you people are doing?“. Daniel reacted angrily. “My phone is bad, I have been trying to get your father's heart, I have been working with Gift and I know the whole stories and plans, so I am with you people just that it can't be obvious because I will only be fully involved when he is fully involved so as not to divide the family”. The mom replied, shocking him the more.

With these words, Brayden's face drained of all color and then quickly reddened as he replayed his last unspoken words. Ivan exhaled as if irritated but his face almost showed amusement from the encounter going on before his eyes. As Ivan stepped forward he almost pushing the now fully flushed Brayden down the stairs while gently grabbing Lilly's arm. He quickly asked in a hushed whisper, "Is this the first you two have spoken through a mind link?" Ivan glanced from Brayden to Lilly waiting for their answer. Their expressions were answered enough as Lilly and Brayden looked at each other thinking at the same time, 'What the hell is a mind link?'
