Damion stared at Coltus for a moment before letting out a growl of frustration. He stooped down and undid the silver cuffs on my ankles, followed by the ones on my wrists. The relief was immediate when I was freed from the burning silver. My magic was starting to sparkly weakly within me. Regrettably, it wasn't enough to do anything, I needed time to regain my strength. But when Damion captured my shoulders again and Coltus took a step toward me with his hand raised, I tried with all my might to struggle against Damion's bruising grip.

The three magic Knights Leaders went out of the portal and stood on the three chairs placed on the sides of the King’s chair. “And let’s welcome our Kingdom’s Magic Leader, King Magnus!” everyone rose from their seats to welcome the King. King Magnus is a fire mage, my father met with him once and I remembered that his aura is as tremendous as my father. He talked to me before and he was really kind but he’s aura is just so powerful that even though he showed kindness towards me, I still kept a distance.

It was glowing green. “Morning.” He greeted me with a smile. My palms began to sweat. My mom was holding a scroll glowing with a darker green. She was reading something. She muttered a word under her breath and dad stepped out of the way. Mom thrust her hand forward and the blue ball floated and it tried to get out of the grip. Its flame was slowly burning out. My mom screamed an incantation and she fisted her hand. The ball disappeared in a thin smoke. “Morning, dear.” My mom said putting the scroll down. I felt my skin burning. She turned to dad.

Bernie took a sip of the coffee. “You humans and your misguided values. A eugenicist decoded the book in hopes he could remove all the handicapped, and the slow-witted from the world. A single word changed the entire intention of his spell. Avalon and earth have combined into a single realm. In short, magic has returned to earth. As have all the creatures of legend and lore.” Bernie asked the question on everyone’s mind, “Do humans have magic?” Elphame rose from her chair and gripped Bernie’s double chin with a bejeweled hand, “Are your eyes normally blue?”

He hurriedly added, before I could pick up the hammer. “Even the assistant, I haven't seen their faces. They were always cladded in dark-pure robes from head to toe. When they supplied the magic to us, one would stand at the door, the other will be the one to supply the magic according to the amount we paid.” He explained. “And how do you get the magic in you? Does it come as a substance or what?” Dimitri asked this time. “In a purple smoke. If you purchase little, you'll be absorbed in small purple smoke. If you purchase many, the larger the smoke. The smoke appears from a seed they drop on the ground.” He revealed.

The very idea seemed impossible. Maria fell silent for a moment before speaking softly, "Some dark magic can bring the dead back to life, but it’s not true resurrection. Instead, it’s a form of reanimation, where the spirit returns as a malevolent entity." Before she could finish, the air seemed to grow heavier, a foreboding chill settling in as though that very dark magic had begun to seep into the room.
